Staunton Gambit
[edit | edit source]2. e4
[edit | edit source]The type of approach one might expect to be successful against the Dutch in view of the weak h5-e8 diagonal. Practice has shown that Black has adequate resources and it difficult for white to show much after a skirmish to recover the pawn sacrifice.
