Ingredients

- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
Process
[edit | edit source]- Add boiling water from the kettle to a pot, and bring to a boil again.
- Mix the maize meal and cold water in a separate bowl to form a thick mixture.
- Add the cold mixture and salt to the boiling pot of water, and stir until the soft porridge starts bubbling and is thick.
- Reduce the heat to low, and partially close the lid. Cook for 20 minutes.
- Serve with margarine, milk, and/or sugar if desired.
