Summary

Description
English: Fig. 3. Timing and delay lines – a) shows 5 different encoding neurons with different amounts of input current (Orange>Red>Purple>Blue>Green). The spiking times of these neurons are colour-coded, and shown with respect to the global subthreshold oscillation’s peak. Note that in the last two cycles, input to the green neuron is insufficient to make it fire. In b) these neurons are drawn as part of a network, where they function as feature-detecting neurons, connecting to a single recognition neuron (in black) via delay lines of different length. An input ratio of 5:4:2:1:3, for instance, would lead to its firing.
