Description

The TurboGrafx-16, a fourth generation video game console with 16-bit graphics. Released by NEC in 1989, it is the American version of the PC Engine console that was released in Japan. It retailed for $199 at launch, and faced off against the Sega Genesis that was released shortly before it. It did not do well on the North American market, coming in a distant third to Nintendo and Sega, even after multiple price drops.

This photo shows the console with the cover removed.
