Wikibooks:No personal attacks

This project page is semi-protected.
From Wikibooks, open books for an open world
(Redirected from Wikibooks:NPA)

Do not make personal attacks anywhere in Wikibooks. Comment on content, not on the contributor. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Nobody likes abuse.

Consequences

Some Wikibookians remove personal attacks on third parties on sight. Users of other Wikimedia projects have been banned for repeatedly engaging in personal attacks, and if necessary it would happen here too. If you are subjected to persistent personal attacks and want help in getting them stopped, email an active Administrator, leave a message on their talk page, or note what is happening in the assistance reading room.

Any personal attack, whether it is a snide comment or a direct personal insult, is covered by this policy. Personal attacks are not acceptable on Wikibooks and this policy imposes a duty on all Wikibookians to stop such attacks should they occur.

Remember that disputes on talk pages are accessible to everyone on the Internet. The way in which you conduct yourself on Wikibooks reflects on Wikibooks and on you. Stay cool.

Being reasonable

Contributors may not agree on a module and could reasonably wish to express their views. Comment with content in mind, not those writing it, and remember that we are all part of the same community, working towards the same goal: Quality books.

Never suggest a person's view is invalid simply because of who they are. Discuss the issues in dispute, not people's attributes or character. This does not mean that you have to agree with other people, but that you must not let disputes become personal. Explore issues in a less public forum like email if a debate threatens to become personal.
