Annotations

[edit | edit source]

Bonafide Sabaoth     (Latin, Hebrew) Genuine Hosts.[1] If Bonafide is taken to be a corruption of the Latin bona fide (in good faith), the warcry could mean Hosts of the True Faith; the Turks at Plevna were Muslims.

Nova Hibernia     (Latin) New Ireland.[2]
