Exit Judas. Et laqueo se suspendit     (Latin) Judas leaves. And he hanged himself with a noose. The first two words parody the stage directions in a Shakespearean play. The last four words are taken from the Vulgate translation of Matthew 27:5:

Matthew 27:5

Et proiectis argenteis in templo, recessit, et abiens laqueo se suspendit

And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, withdrew, and going away he hanged himself with a noose.
