283:11 "The citizen" is not given a name. However, in the following section Gerty MacDowell's Granpapa Giltrap's is said to have a dog called Garryowen. Although the link is not explicitly stated, it is at least plausible that the citizen and Granpapa Giltrap are one and the same.
