Automobile Repair/Nissan/Maxima (4th Generation)/Replacing the engine thermostat
Appearance
The Engine Thermostat controls how much coolant flows throw the engine. It should be replaced if the engine is consistently cold (if the thermostat is stuck open) or if the car is getting too hot or over heating (if the thermostat is stuck closed). Its a good idea to replace the thermostat at the same time your changing the coolant, because the coolant must be drained to do this.
