Once you learn all the numbers from 1 to 10, afterwards it gets much easier. In the case of 11 to 19, just add a number from 1 to 9 after on to make on bir, on iki, etc. (11 and 12 respectively).

Number (digit[s]) Azerbaijani
11 on bir
12 on iki
13 on üç
14 on dörd
... ...
19 on doqquz
20 iyirmi

20-99

The same thing applies here. Just add the name of a unit after the name of a ten. For example, to make the number 36, just take the words otuz and altı to make otuz altı (36). As long as you know your numbers from 1 to 10, all you really need to learn here are the names of the tens.

Number (digit[s]) Azerbaijani
20 iyirmi
21 iyirmi bir
22 iyirmi iki
... ...
30 otuz
40 qırx
50 əlli
60 altmış
70 yetmiş
80 səksən (həşdad also used)
90 doxsan
... ...
99 doxsan doqquz

100-999

[edit | edit source]

This also works the same way. Now that you know your tens and units, hundreds are extremely easy. Yüz is 100. To say 300 in Azerbaijani, all you do is put üç (3) before yüz, leaving you with üç yüz (300).

Number (digit[s]) Azerbaijani
100 yüz
101 yüz bir
... ...
123 yüz iyirmi üç
... ...
200 iki yüz
300 üç yüz
... ...
999 doqquz yüz doxsan doqquz

1000+

Thousands, millions and more work in exactly the same ways. After millions, all values have the same names as their English equivalents, although spelt differently (e.g. trillion = trilyon in English and Azerbaijani respectively). However, don't feel frightened by this, because the spellings aren't unique (i.e. they all end in -yon).

The only problem you may face among the words below is with the Azerbaijani terms for billion. Although bilyon can be used, the term milyard tends to be much more common.
