Beginner's Guide to Adobe Flash/Publishing/Publish Settings
To create a viewable flash movie for viewers see, it's best to first go into the Publish Settings option under File>Publish Settings to check and ensure the options checked are the ones you want. Here are options to rename the SWF and HTML files that are going to be created, as well as other options that will enable the author to customize the settings further.
As options are checked on the Formats tab, new tabs are added alongside it. For example, if the Flash (.swf) option has been checked, a tab that reads Flash will appear. This tab when enabled then allows for alterations to the publish settings. Whether to allow the SWF to be viewable for older versions of flash player or whether to add a password for access, these options are listed here.
