Atrial fibrillation

Atrial fibrillation is the commonest arrhythmia that occurs in human , it affects 1%of the population world wide . It is wisely recognised due to thromboembolism complicating it's presence .

Pathophysiology

Many theories were advocated , however the most acceptable theory is the presence of re-entry circuits in left atrium around origin of pulmonary veins . This theory has affected the management in the electrophysiology lab .
