Expert interviews

[edit | edit source]

In pursuing rapid knowledge in a novel area, communicating with experts in the field is indispensable. I strive to interview at least one individual per module, usually sending cold-emails describing this research project's aims. I record our interactions, transcribe them, and have chatGPT summarize them for ease of future access.

  • Dirk Helbing - ETH Zürich, Computational Social Science - an expert in social systems and complexity science, with a recent dramatic interest in deliberative democracy.
  • Jeremy Foote - Purdue, Communications - expert in online communities, currently engaged in a research project using LLMs as an intervention for banned Reddit users
  • Jan Voelkel - PhD candidate representing incredible work on interventions which change political attitudes, talk at Cornell.
