[edit | edit source]Black takes space in the centre, but refuses to threaten the knight, thus calling White's bluff. A different way of doing so, emphasizing the correct placement of one's own Knight, might be 1... Nc6. Then, 2. d4 is the Mozarabic Opening — trying to put Black's riposte in the wrong just the same. In any case, Black can get a very solid game.
