[edit | edit source]1...a6!?
[edit | edit source]A very interesting move by black. The idea is to play b5 and chip away White's strong c4 pawn. If white tries to stop it with 2. Nc3, black can play a gambit with 2...b5!?, pushing anyways, with the point of when white accepts it with 3. cxb5 axb5 4. Nxb5, white has 4...e5 or 4...d5, taking the entire center and preparing potential plans of a queenside attack.
