2...cxb4 · Wing Gambit Accepted
[edit | edit source]Black bravely accepts the gambit. Since the gambit is of questionable soundness, it is best to accept it.
One trap: a3 d5! (Countering in the center) exd5 Qxd5 axb4?? (White, in his eagerness to regain the pawn, forgot a simple tactic), Qe5+ wins the rook on a1.
The recommended refutation is to counterattack in the center at the right time.
White's responses
[edit | edit source]3. a3.
3. d4.
