A cake pan, also called a cake tin, is a piece of cookware designed specifically for baking cakes. Cake pans come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and materials.
Composition
[edit | edit source]Cake pans are typically made of metal (often aluminum), although they may also be made of glass or silicon. They are sometimes coated with a non-stick finish to ease removal of the finished cake from the pan.
Appearance
[edit | edit source]Cake pans are often round or square/rectangular. They can also come in a variety of novelty shapes.
Specialty Pans
[edit | edit source]Specialty cake pans also exist, including bundt pans, tube pans, angel food cake pans, and loaf pans.
