A U.S. fluid ounce is a unit of volume measure equal to 2 tablespoons, 6 teaspoons, or 1/8 cup. It is approximately equal to 29.6 ml. There are 16 U.S. fluid ounces in a U.S. pint.

The imperial fluid ounce is slightly smaller, about 28.4 ml. There are 20 imperial fluid ounces in an imperial pint.

The fluid ounce may be abbreviated as oz or, more specifically, as fl oz.

Note that the fluid ounce is distinct from the ounce, which is a unit of weight, not volume.
