Ila alasepo is a Nigerian dish of stewed okra. It is rich in fibre and protein, and it is typically served with a swallow.
Ingredients

- Palm oil
- 4 red chile peppers (rodo), finely minced
- Precooked meat
- Smoked dried fish, cleaned
- Ponmo
- Maggi bouillon cubes
- Chopped okro
- Salt
Procedure
[edit | edit source]- Bring a pot of water to a boil over medium heat. Add palm oil, minced pepper, cooked meat, smoked fish, ponmo, and maggi. Let simmer for 10–20 minutes.
- Stir and taste, then adjust seasoning as necessary.
- Stir in the chopped okro. Let boil, uncovered, for about 3–5 minutes.
- Serve with your preferred swallow.
