A saltspoon (abbr: ssp, sometimes ss) is a unit of measurement sometimes found in old recipes in English, and in French recipes – cuillère à sel. In the US, it is 1⁄4 of a US teaspoon, or about 1.2 ml. In the UK, it is 1⁄2 of a UK teaspoon (1⁄16 imperial fluid ounce or 1⁄2 imperial fluid drachm), or about 1·78mL.
