Imitation whipped topping, sometimes referred to as 'whipped topping' or the brand name 'Cool Whip', is a stabilized whipped cream substitute. It typically contains little to no actual cream, although it may contain some dairy. It is often sold ready-whipped in tubs, but it may also be sold as a powder or liquid to be whipped at home.
