Novels
[edit | edit source]It's delightful to read a novel. What is it? A novel, if you check the dictionary, is a story long enough to fill a complete a book, in which the characters and events are usually imaginary.
Detective Novels
[edit | edit source]A detective novel is a novel that focuses on crime by a brilliant detective. It usually employs elements of mystery and suspense.
Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express is a good example.
Historical Novels
[edit | edit source]A historical novel is a novel where fictional characters are created; they take part in actual historical events and interact with real people from the past.
James Fenimore Cooper's Last of the Mohicans is a good example.
Romantic Novels

[edit | edit source]A fantasy novel is a story that is disengaged from reality. Often such novels are set in nonexistent worlds, such as under the earth, in a fairyland, on the moon, etc. The characters are often something other than human or include nonhuman characters.
