Gnomes start off in Ak'Anon, which is located at the far end of the continent of Faydwer. With the possible exceptions of Erudites and Iksar, no race has as farther to run to get to its hometown than the gnomes. A highly intelligent race, the Gnome can play a Cleric, Enchanter, Magician, Necromancer, Rogue, Warrior, Wizard, Paladin, or Shadowknight. Gnomes are considered a good race, unless they choose a necromancer. As a subterranean race, gnomes can see very well in the dark. Gnomes are also the only race to get the tinkering skill, letting them make some nifty, even if mostly useless, trinkets.
