Short Swords are short but heavy blades. They are the smallest sword used for open warfare as opposed to city or ship protection. Short Swords are nearly always carried in conjunction with shields and fights are commonly determined by skill in finding an opening to stab rather than sheer strength. The point of the Short Sword is extremely sharp as opposed to most other swords, which are primarily slashing weapons.
