Fluid Mechanics/Fluid Statics/Hydraulic Systems

From Wikibooks, open books for an open world

Using hydraulic systems, heavy bodies can be lifted using low force. The basic concept is that the pressure of all fluid particles is constant at same height.

pressure p=∅*h*g (∅ is density,h is height,g is gravitational constant)

also p=F/A (F is force and A is area of the surface)

if F and A are small on one side to maintain pressure F and A will be more at other side.
