The Seal of the Federal Aviation Administration, the government authority in charge of aviation in the United States of America.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is responsible for the oversight of aviation activities in the United States, and the FARsāˆ’or Federal Aviation Regulations (comprising Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations) are largely adapted from ICAO recommendations. While Part 139 of the FARs, found in Subchapter G, outlines regulations regarding airport certification, Subchapter I is concerned entirely with rules surrounding airports.
