GENtle/Restriction Identifier
The Restriction Identifier can be used to choose a restriction enzyme that can be used to differentiate two or more DNA sequences in an agarose gel. Its display is based on the virtual gel.
In the left column, all opened DNA sequences are shown in the lower box, and can be checked to be used in the identification, which will start once two or more DNA sequences are selected.
The generated enzyme list (upper box) can be affected by choosing an enzyme group, and by setting limitations, which determine that two bands in different lanes, in order to be recognized as "different", have to differ at least a given number of base pairs or a percentage of their length.
Upon selecting one of the resulting enzymes, the appropriate simulated gel will appear for visual inspection.
