Legolas Greenleaf was the Prince of Mirkwood, as well as the lone Elf in the Fellowship of the Ring, serving as the. group's archer. He first came to prominence during the Council of Elrond, traveling with the Fellowship, and then with Aragorn and Gimli after the breaking of the Fellowship. Though there was initially friction between Legolas and Gimli because of the longtime feud between the Dwarves and the Elves, the two formed a strong friendship, doing much to reduce the tension between the two races.
