In Gujarati, simple sentences can be constructed in the following ways.

Using only a verb

The general order is subject, then verb.

હું દોડું છું. hu(n) dodu chhu. I am running.
તે ખાય છે te khay chhe He is eating.
Using a subject, object and verb

The general order is subject, then object, then verb.

તે રોટલી ખાય છે. te rotli khay chhe He is eating chapati.
