Tool applications use calculators and computer applications such as word processing and spreadsheets to act as tools in the learning process. These applications may often be the easiest to integrate into the curriculum because teachers can implement these tools without changing the structure of the lesson drasitically. Since most teachers use tools such as word processing and spreadsheets for professional or personal pruposes, they are able to draw on their own experiences with the tools to aid students.
