International Postage Meter Stamp Catalog/Brunei
Brunei
[edit | edit source]The earliest meter stamp seen is from 1954. All stamp are inscribed “BRUNEI” or “BRUNEI DARUSSALAM”. The stamps are grouped according to inscription:
- A - “BRUNEI”
- B - “BRUNEI DARUSSALAM”

A1. Neopost (LV-10), 1954.
- Small frank with simulated-perforation outer border and “POST PAID” stacked vertically at both sides.
- M# N1, N2 and N3.
- TM: BIC
- Values seen ("CTS"): 4, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 23, 25, 30, 35, 50, 60, 70, 95, 1•00, 1•25 [Very scarce to very rare]
- Values seen ("DLRS"): 3, 4, 5, 8, 20 [Exceptionally rare]
NOTES:
- Dollar ("DLRS") values 10, 12 and 15 were available but used examples have not been seen by us.
- Some of the cents ("CTS") values are rarer than others. The 50 cent value seems to be the most common while several of the others are quite rare.

A2. Universal “MultiValue” (MV), 1956. [Rare]
- Frank with simulated-perforation outer border and straight-line inner border.

- Similar to Type A2 but inscriptions often smaller and M# below “POSTAGE”.
- A. M# with “U” prefix. “BRUNEI” large [Very scarce]
- B. M# with “P.B.” prefix. “BRUNEI” large. "CENTS" closer to value figures [Scarce]
- C. M# with “P.B.” prefix. “BRUNEI” small. "CENTS" closer to frame lines [Scarce]

NOTE: Proof stamps from a Universal “Simplex” (LV-25) meter with meter number S-1 are known.
- It is possible this machine was placed into use although examples franking actual mail have not been reported.
