[edit | edit source]- The first meter was installed in 1939.
- The stamps are grouped according to inscription and emblem in the frank as follows:
- A - “ΕΛΛΑΣ” and crown (1939-1966)
- B - “ΕΛΛΑΣ”, “HELLAS” and crown (1964-1973)
- C - “ΕΛΛΑΣ”, “HELLAS” and phoenix (June 1973-August 1974)
- D - “ΕΛΛΑΣ” and “HELLAS” without crown or phoenix
- E - "ΕΛΛΑΣ” and “HELLAS” with "Hellenic Post" logo (ΕΛΤΑ + head of Mercury)
- Note that both Roman and Western numerals are commonly used for the month in meter dates.
