International Postage Meter Stamp Catalog/Macau
Macau
[edit | edit source]- Macau is a small, former Portuguese colony (six square miles) located on an island off the southwest coast of China. Although a twin to Hong Kong in both geographical and political relations to the rest of China (a special administration region), it is far smaller in size and economic strength.
- Postage meters were first introduced in 1973.
- All stamps have “MACAU” in the frank.
- The stamps are grouped according to appearance:
- A - Upright frank with simulated perforation border
- B - Square or horizontal frank with straight line border
- C - Frank with tower of General Post Office
- PO - Stamps from machines in Post Offices
GROUP A: Upright frank with simulated perforation border
