Knots/Loop knots/French bowline
Appearance
< Knots | Loop knots
The French Bowline, also known as the Portuguese Bowline, is similar to the regular bowline but it has two loops. The two loops are adjustable in size. You can pull rope from one loop into the other, even when the knot is tight.
Steps
[edit | edit source]-
Make an overhand loop (loop with the working end on top).
-
Put the working end through.
-
Put it through again. From here, the steps are the same as the regular bowline.
-
Put it around the standing end and back through the loop.
-
Pull tight and you're done.
