From Wikibooks, open books for an open world

Let's make a quick overview of the basic command needed, for further learning I recommend watching the shortcut list in resources.

You can navigate inside the 3d view using the ALT button and the mouse:

  • ALT + MouseLeft = Rotate view
  • ALT + MouseMiddle = Pan
  • ALT + MouseRight = Zoom

Selection

[edit | edit source]

Select with MouseLeft, using SHIFT it's possible to add or subtract objects from the selection, CTRL will deselect only while SHIFT+CTRL will have the opposite effect allowing only to select. There are various modes to selection based un what you desire to select:

  • F8 will toggle between Object Mode where you select whole objects and whatever mode where you previously in.
  • F9 enters Vertex Mode where you select the single points the form the 3d object
  • F10 enters Edge Mode where you select the linees colligating vertex to each other
  • F11 enters Face Mode where you select the faces described by the edges
  • F12 enters UV Mode which is used for textures

That's easy, just remember QWERTY

  • Q is the normal selection tool
  • W will let you move things around
  • E is for rotating
  • R for scaling

The others are unimportant for now, let's go with a quick tutorial so we don't get too bored.
