[edit | edit source]-
1. Unscrew micrometer spindle from the nut in the cylinder.
-
2. The end of the micrometer screw from the Cambridge Instruments Biocut 2030 microtome. An M3x12 screw in the cross hole to engage a 0.5" socket on a torque wrench.
-
3. Measure the torque at which the micrometer screw turns relative to the lever. Torque wrench in left hand. Lever held with right forefinger. The clutch should release at 1 Nm.
-
4. Using an a 5 mm wrench, adjust the clutch.
-
5. Repeat the torque measurement and adjustment until the clutch releases at 1 Nm torque. Can also be measured as 1.6 kg acting at the polymer insert at the end of the lever.
-
6. Thread the micrometer spindle back into the nut in the cylinder.
