Meitei Culture/Slavery

Slavery in Meitei civilization were not confined on a permanent basis. If any slave wants to quit his/her profession, they are free to do so as there is no force, but on certain terms and conditions (usually a contractual timing), of their masters or mistresses.

Marriages of slaves to their masters or mistresses usually don't happen in traditional Meitei society.
