Metal Gear Series/The Patriots

The Patriots are the modern day manifestation of the Philosophers described in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. As of late, the organization can be described as a force of perpetual war whose sole purpose is to encourage the funding and act of war. In the Metal Gear series the Patriots are alluded to as the main cause of all large scale conflicts between nations.

The Patriots were founded by Zero, and plays a key role in the backstory of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty as well as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and a very prominent role in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
