Overview
[edit | edit source]Crabbe, Sr. is the father of Vincent Crabbe- one of Draco Malfoy's sidekicks. He is also one of Lord Voldemort's Death Eaters alongside Lucius Malfoy and Goyle.
Role in the Books
[edit | edit source]When Lord Voldemort summons his Death Eaters after returning to life, he addresses one of them as Crabbe, and asks him if he will do better next time, and Crabbe promises he will.
When Harry later names Crabbe as one of the Death Eaters present in the graveyard, Cornelius Fudge dismisses that, saying he had already been tried and released, and Harry could have gotten his name from the old news stories.
Crabbe, Sr. is one of the twelve Death Eaters who take part in the Battle at the Ministry. His role is not entirely certain -- when Lucius Malfoy is sending pairs off to hunt for Harry Potter and the students with him, he is partnered with Rabastan Lestrange. Both of them are said to be the Death Eaters Harry, Hermione and Neville first encounter, with Crabbe getting stunned and falling into a time jar, giving him a baby's head.
Deathly Hallows
[edit | edit source]During the Battle at Hogwarts, Crabbe Sr. and Crabbe Jr. fight for Voldemort. Very little is seen of Crabbe Sr. during this time.
Strengths
[edit | edit source]Weaknesses
[edit | edit source]Much like his son, he doesn't seem to be very intelligent.
Relationships with Other Characters
[edit | edit source]The relationship that Crabbe Sr. has with Lucius Malfoy seems similar, from what little we see of it, to the relationship Crabbe Jr. has with Draco Malfoy. We are uncertain whether this continues after Malfoy's fall from grace.
