Nineteen Eighty-Four/Part 2/Chapter 1

The dark-haired girl, who has broken her arm, intentionally falls down while walking past Winston in order to give him a note that says "I love you", nullifying Winston's worries that she is a spy for the Thought Police. They meet at lunchtime, then in a crowd watching prisoners, and the dark-haired girl tells Winston where they should meet again.
