Nineteen Eighty-Four/Part 2/Chapter 6
Appearance
O'Brien meets Winston in the hallway of the Ministry of Truth and talks to him about an article which Winston recently edited and how a word it is has become obsolete in the newest edition of the newspeak dictionary. Though O'Brien also lets Winston know that he is a revolutionary through mentioning Syme despite his vaporization which is a thought crime. Winston says he does not have the dictionary edition and O'Brien offers to give it to him if Winston comes to his apartment. Importantly O'Brien gives him the address on a piece of paper after writing it in view of the telescreen which wards off any suspicion in Winston's mind.
