The lstat keyword

lstat is a function that does the same as the stat function (including setting the special _ filehandle) but stats a symbolic link instead of the file the symbolic link points to. If there are no symbolic links on the system, a normal stat is done instead.

Without EXPRESSION, $_ is stat.

Syntax

  lstat EXPRESSION
  lstat DIRHANDLE
  lstat
