Prussian/Pronunciation

Prussian uses the Latin alphabet. It also has a few special characters. These are ā, ē, ī, ū, and š. These can be found on the Latvian keyboard, but one can also use â, ê, î, û, and sh on the French keyboard.

ā, ē, ī, and ū are stressed and held longer than their normal counterparts when alone

š is pronounced sh

aī is pronounced aye like in German eins

ai and eī is pronounced ay like in play

j is pronounced y

w is pronounced v in German derived words

au and aū is pronounced ow like in cow

p in German derived words like šērpi, girappi, and oppisan sounds like f

c is pronounced z or ts
