Statistical Mechanics/Cover

From Wikibooks, open books for an open world

This book will cover the rigorous template of statistical mechanics, which has many uses in abstract physics that build up into many theories on many different materials, the most important of which being Thermal Physics.

Prerequisites

[edit | edit source]

The following are some good things to have under your belt to understand this material:

  • Multivariate Calculus
  • Introductory Physics
  • A very brisk notion of quantum numbers and the Schrodinger equation (in other words, just the main idea of what they are)

For Thermal Physics, the above is suggested (except for quantum numbers/Schrodinger ideas) and:

  • Partial Differentials
