Introduction
[edit | edit source]This tutorial helps you to answer the question:
I can find my way around sunvox, but now how do I make music with it?
You will learn how the different elements of the interface combine to produce sounds, and how those sounds can be saved in tracks to record rhythms, melodies and harmonies.
Starting a new song
[edit | edit source]Starting a new song in sunvox can be done in one of two ways.
First, sunvox will automatically open a new song with a basic layout for you when you start the software. If sunvox saved a previous session, sunvox will pop up a window asking whether or not you want to restore your previous session; if not, sunvox starts a new song.
Alternatively, if you have been working with sunvox for a while but you want a brand new song, you can open the main menu in the top left, and select the new song option.
I have a new song but how do I put things in it?
[edit | edit source]If you want any sound in Sunvox, you'll need to use Modules. Modules generate or change sounds. From the modules that generate sound, the most simple of them is the generator. To add a module (in this case, you'll want add the Generator), right click anywhere on the module interface and select add. Alternatively, left click on the menu icon (the three slashes in the corner of the interface) and select new. From the first list, locate the Generator and left click it to add it.
