Walkthrough
As you will see in the opening sequence, the Triforce calls Link to Hyrule Castle and warps him to the land of Holodrum. The game starts out with Link waking up in an open field. He will soon meet a dancer named Din (the oracle of seasons). Suddenly after dancing with Din, General Onox will kidnap Din.
Guide structure
[edit | edit source]Oracle of Seasons can be subdivided into eight main chapter (plus introduction and final chapter). Each chapter is characterized by a dungeon. Anyway, the name of each dungeon appears only once in the game, after the hero found it. On the other hand, during his quest to find the dungeon entrance, Link will be told many times the name of the corresponding surface area instead.
Therefore, it is much more useful to specify not just the dungeon name, but also the name of the area where it is located.
Holodrum area | Dungeon name | Page |
---|---|---|
North Horon | Gnarled Root Dungeon | North Horon and Gnarled Root Dungeon |
Woods of Winter | Snake's Remains | Woods of Winter and Snake's Remains |
Spool Swamp | Poison Moth's Lair | Spool Swamp and Poison Moth's Lair |
Mount Cucco | Dancing Dragon Dungeon | Mount Cucco and Dancing Dragon Dungeon |
Eyeglass Lake | Unicorn's Cave | Eyeglass Lake and Unicorn's Cave |
Tarm Ruins | Ancient Ruins | Tarm Ruins and Ancient Ruins |
Graveyard | Explorer's Crypt | Graveyard and Explorer's Crypt |
Temple Remains | Sword and Shield Maze | Temple Remains and Sword & Shield Dungeon |
Linked games
[edit | edit source]Two different linked games can be played:
- Oracle of Seasons first, Oracle of Ages then: all information specific to this option is written in the page Secrets to and from Labrynna
- Oracle of Ages first, Oracle of Seasons then: all information specific to this option is written in sidebars in the main guide.
The extra final dungeon, identical in both versions, is described in the page Room of Rites
Arrival
Introduction
[edit | edit source]Link, a hero from the land of Hyrule, has seen much evil appear in a short time. Not long ago, his destiny changed, and he became a mighty force of good, defeating the Evil King Ganon, rescuing Princess Zelda, and restoring peace to the kingdom of Hyrule. Ganon sought out a force, that of the Triforce, and could not obtain it all. Instead, that very force was split into three parts: Power, Wisdom and Courage. One of those parts, Courage, is within Link. Another, Wisdom, lies in Princess Zelda. Ganon held the last force, Power, but it was lost upon his demise. However, a mysterious new enemy is about to make themself known, and could very well bring the force of Power back...
Link, the Legendary Hero, is called by the Triforce to Princess Zelda's castle in Hyrule. The Triforce warps him to the land of Holodrum, where he lands unconscious. He is discovered by a dancer named Din and by Impa, another envoy from Princess Zelda.
Short after Link wakes up, General Onox of Darkness crashes in like a tornado, knocks everybody off and abducts Din. Even Link is helpless against him.
Then, he seals Din up and sends the Temple of Seasons sinking into the earth, wreaking havoc over all the land! The seasons are thrown out of balance, and Onox casts his destruction across Holodrum and beyond!
The adventure begins
[edit | edit source]Horon Village
[edit | edit source]- Linked game start
If Oracle of Ages has already been completed and linked to this game, Link will start with two extra items: the L-1 wooden sword and a 4th heart container.
After General Onox imprisons Din, Link finds himself awakening elsewhere. Impa asks Link to take a message to the Maku Tree in Horon Village. She is too injured to carry on the task herself, and she knows that Link is the Triforce Hero, because his hand bears the symbol of the Triforce of Courage.
- Linked game
- Ring secret
If Oracle of Ages has already been completed and linked to this game, Link can get all the rings he collected in Oracle of Ages using the Ring Secret. First, switch to Oracle Of Ages, go to the jewelry and talk to the Red Snake: he will tell you a password. Then, switch back to Oracle of Seasons, go to the jewelry in Horon Village and tell the password to the Red Snake there. Your collection of rings will be copied into this game.
Two places of interest can be found in Horon Village: the first one is Vasu Jewelry, where Link will be given a L-1 Ring Box that allows him to carry (and use) one Magic Ring, after he will find any.
The second one is the shop; inside, there are three items available: some Hearts, which replenish health (10 rupees), some bombs (20 rupees), and a shield (30 rupees). If you want to buy one, you'll need to pick up the item you want and talk to the store clerk.
Anyway, you will find the bombs for free in the first dungeon, and you can buy the Wooden Shield for a cheaper price just before the second dungeon.
In the north-west corner of the Village, Link can visit the hut of the Know-It-All Birds, that consist of an in-game tutorial. One last location is the Advance Shop, which can only be accessed if played on a Game Boy Advance; there, Link can buy three items for 100 Rupees each, but later, because he starts the game with no money.
Now, the real adventure has begun. You must now find a way to restore Holodrum from its state of frequently-changing seasons, and the first step is to deliver Impa's message to the Maku Tree.
Western coast
[edit | edit source]The way to the tree is blocked, so you can't go there yet. First, you must find a sword to clear the path. Head west through Horon Village, and you'll reach a small path that heads into the coast.
From here, go south. There is a shortcut you can take down to the coast from a ledge above. However, there are Octoroks to avoid along the way. You need a weapon to defeat the evil monsters like these you'll meet. Look for a cave entrance in the cliff wall near a dock. This is the entrance to the Hero's Cave.
Hero's Cave
[edit | edit source]The Hero's Cave is a sort of mini-dungeon, with very simple puzzles to solve. However, you can't defend yourself from enemies yet, so avoid them all.
- Room 1: Once inside the cave, head through the door to the east, avoiding the Keese.
- Room 2: Once inside the next room, all of the doors will close. This puzzle is often common, and you'll see it many more times to come. Push the block in the center of the room to open the doors again, then head through the door to the north.
- Room 3: Once in the next room, you'll need to go down a narrow path. Falling is not an option. Push the block up to access the path. Across the path, there are two more blocks push the left block south and the right block east. This opens the way to the key chamber.
- Room 4: Inside the key chamber, avoid the Keese and Gels, and step on the round floor switch next to the strange spot on the floor, revealing a chest. Walk up to the south side of the chest and press the A button to open it, and you'll find a Small Key. Small Keys can open locked paths in a dungeon, but only fit locks inside the dungeon they're found, and can be used just once.
- Room 5: Return to the second room (the one with the doors that close when you enter), and head south after pushing the block to find a locked door to the east. You can open it now.
- Room 6: The room following has more Gels, and Green Zols. Press the switch here to open the path forward. Head on through and avoid the enemies.
- Room 7: Here is a chest. Open it, and you'll get the first item in the game: the Wooden Sword. Now, you can defeat enemies. After picking up the Wooden Sword, you'll be sent back to the entrance.
You can now return to Horon Village.
However, before going to the Maku Tree, you can get yourself another item. On the way back to Horon Village is a small ledge above the Hero's Cave that leads to a secret room. Jump off the ledge, and you'll find yourself landing in the cave before a chest. Open it, and you get 30 Rupees. To get out, head left, push the block, and then go back to Horon Village.
North Horon and Gnarled Root Dungeon
HOLODRUM: North Horon
[edit | edit source]The Maku Tree
[edit | edit source]Heading east across the village will bring you to the blocked path, which can now be cleared with the Wooden Sword. The sign by the gate says to show courage. Swing your sword in front of the gates, and you will be allowed to pass.
You'll arrive at the Maku Tree, a large, wise oak. However, he's asleep! You'll need to swing the sword again to pop the snot bubble of sap gushing out his nose. The noise will wake the tree and allow you to deliver the message from Impa.
The Maku Tree sees the chaos that has come because of Onox, including the scattering of the eight Essences of Nature, which has weakened him. He's shriveled to a much smaller size without the forces of nature to enrich his body.
The Maku Tree asks you to save Din and gives you the File:Zelda Oracles Gnarled Key.PNG Gnarled Key. This key is special, and only fits one particular lock. Fortunately, the Maku Tree knows where it is. He tells you to go to a giant root in the middle of the lake. What could be there?
North Horon
[edit | edit source]With the Gnarled Key, go to the giant root up by the lake as the Maku Tree said. It doesn't look like much, but there's a very peculiar keystone next to it. Go up to it and use the Gnarled Key.
Suddenly, the root rises up to reveal a large tree! And inside it is the entrance to the first dungeon: Gnarled Root Dungeon.
DUNGEON: Gnarled Root Dungeon
[edit | edit source]The first dungeon in the game is very simple. There isn't much to it, but you may find it to be somewhat of a challenge. Note that the layout of this first dungeon is very similar to the layout of the first dungeon in Legend of Zelda 1.
Small key n.1
[edit | edit source]As you enter the first room, head north into the next one. Once you enter, the doors will shut and you will find four peculiar blocks. The one on your top-right is movable. Push it to open up the doors.
Head north again to find a sage (in the same style as The Legend of Zelda 1). He will mention that you need to relight unlit torches. Remember that. You can't light any now, but there is an item in the dungeon that can. Head back into the block room and resolve the puzzle, then head east.
In this room are four Stalfos. Kill them all to get a File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key. With it, you can open one locked door in the dungeon. In fact, there's one nearby. Head into the block room again. This time, you don't have to mess with the puzzle. Instead, head west and unlock the door.
The dungeon map
[edit | edit source]In the next room are four more Stalfos. Kill them to open up the doors, and make a chest appear, which holds the File:Zelda Oracles Dungeon Map.png Dungeon Map. The map (viewable by pressing Select) will now show all the rooms in this dungeon. Darkened rooms haven't been visited yet. Now, you can keep track of your progress. There is also another helpful item in the dungeon. It's the companion to the Dungeon Map, but it's in another room.
The compass
[edit | edit source]Head on north to the next room. Here, you'll face four Zols. They're not very strong. Slashing will split them into two smaller blobs called Gels, which you can kill easily. When they're all gone, you'll open up a door. However, it's only the door you came through. You can't head left, and the door ahead is shut, too, but there's a mine cart ahead. Run over to it, and hop in. You'll be taken for a ride down the tracks. The door ahead will open to let you through, and you'll ride a small track through the next room.
Several Keese are in here, but you can get rid of them with your sword if they bother you. The mine cart will go through another door, where the tracks will end. Now, you have two options: one, head up the stairs or two, head left.
If you head left, there are a couple of Moblins. These enemies throw boomerangs at you if they see you, but a couple hits will get rid of them. With them gone, there is a block nearby. Push it, and the door will open. Be careful heading towards it. Two spike traps will come after you. Lure them out, and wait for them to get out of your way. Beware; this isn't the last you'll see of them.
In the next room, there is a block puzzle. It seems confusing, but there are 4 simple steps to solve it:
Solving the Block Puzzle |
---|
|
At the end of the puzzle, go up the stairs. You'll find a treasure chest waiting for you. Inside is a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed. With the puzzle done, head out.
If you head up the stairs, you'll find a path to the right. It will take you into the last room, but in a different place.
Go open the chest at the end of the path. You'll get the File:Zelda Oracles Compass.png Compass, the Dungeon Map's companion. This handy item will help you find keys hidden in the dungeon. Listen for a noise (four beeps) to find out if an object is hidden in the room.
Dungeon item 1: bombs
[edit | edit source]There is also a lever up here. It can switch the tracks below. Hit it with your sword to move it. The track will switch over to a new path. Then, hop back in the mine cart.
This time, you'll travel into a new room and pass by a treasure chest. When the mine cart comes to a stop, go back and open the chest. The reward? Ten File:Zelda Oracles Bomb.png Bombs. You'll need them later.
Small key n.2
[edit | edit source]Head right... and you'll hear four beeps. That's the Compass telling you there's a key hidden here.
Close by are some stairs. Go up them and head right again to find more stairs leading down a path. Here, you will encounter the Spinning Blade Trap, also known as a Chaser. It will chase after you if you come near it. Try to run past it before it gets too close. At the end of the path is a switch. Step on it to reveal a chest with another File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.
Path to the sub-boss
[edit | edit source]Once you get the key, go back the way you came, but don't take the stairs back down. Instead, head left to find a crack in the wall. Now, equip your bombs. Place one by the crack and let it go off. You'll blow open an entrance to another room.
The next room teaches you about spike traps. Make your way through carefully. Traps have freedom to go up and down or left and right if they can. There are places where you can dodge the traps if they get too close.
-
Blue traps are slow.
-
Green traps move at medium-speed‎.
-
Red traps cause trouble.
-
Yellow is very fast, and some blues come in pairs.
When you make it past all the traps, you'll reach a locked door. Open it, and get ready: here comes a mini-boss.
SUB-BOSS: Goriya brothers
[edit | edit source]The mini-boss is the Goriya Brothers. The two of them share a boomerang that they throw at you. It's tricky to avoid, but can't go very far.
It doesn't take much to defeat the brothers. Focus on one, and keep attacking him. The two are bound by fate, so when one dies, so does the other. When you've defeated them, a warp point and fairy will appear. Use the fairy to restore your health. Then, go into the next room.
Dungeon item 2: seed satchel
[edit | edit source]This room has several traps and a wall blocking a staircase. However, the block in the left corner of the wall can be pushed aside (in the same style as The Legend of Zelda 1).
When you venture down the staircase, you'll find a reward waiting for you: the File:Zeldaoracles Seed Satchel.gif Seed Satchel. It can carry the many different seeds you'll acquire, and there's one kind already inside.
The Seed Satchel has 20 File:Zeldaoracles Ember Seed.gif Ember Seeds in it. Ember Seeds set things ablaze, and these are just what you need to light torches.
Path to the boss
[edit | edit source]Equip the Seed Satchel and head back to the miniboss room. You can push the blocks out of your way to get out. From there, step into the warp point. You'll return to the room where the mine cart was when you found it. Now, you have the means to light the torches, using the Ember Seeds. This will open the door. If you run out of Ember Seeds, don't worry. You can find more Ember Seeds by cutting grass outside the dungeon.
Inside are a few Moblins. Defeat them to make a chest appear. Inside is the File:Zelda Oracles Boss Key.png Boss Key. This key can open the big locked door to a dungeon boss's lair.
From here, go back to where you got the Dungeon Map. Light the torches there, and a new path will open. Now, you'll navigate a maze full of Floormasters. Don't let them grab you.
Inside the maze is a chest, and it holds a ring. You can appraise it later, and it will be the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 41.pngDiscovery Ring (n.41) (this ring lets you detect hidden Soft Soil patches).
When you fend off the Floormasters and make it through the maze, you'll reach the lair of the boss. Be on your guard, and go in...
BOSS: Aquamentus
[edit | edit source]When you enter the lair, a large dragon will appear: Aquamentus, the boss of the dungeon. He was also the boss of the first dungeon in Legend of Zelda 1.
The dragon will spit out three fireballs and try to ram you. However, he has one big weakness: the horn on his head. Slash away at Aquamentus's horn, and the dragon will fall in defeat.
The reward for slaying Aquamentus is a File:Zelda Oracles Heart Container.png Heart Container. Grab it, and your health will be fully restored, and another heart will be added to it.
With the defeat of Aquamentus, go into the room to the right. Inside, you'll obtain the File:Zelda Oracles Fertile Soil.PNG Fertile Soil, the first Essence of Nature. "Seeds scattered across bountiful lands are nourished in this Fertile Soil!"
Woods of Winter and Snake's Remains
Upon claiming the Fertile Soil, you'll be warped out of the dungeon, and be contacted by the Maku Tree. The Fertile Soil has restored some of his strength, and he has dreamt that the Temple of Seasons is now in another, unknown land. He says there is a helpful item there. The question is: where is that land...?
Before the next quest
[edit | edit source]Now that you've recovered the first Essence of Nature, it's time to head back to Horon Village. Also, there are a few things that you may find with your new Seed Satchel.
North Horon
[edit | edit source]- Maple the Witch
On the way back to Horon Village, you may encounter a strange witch. If you bump into her, you'll both spill items all over! When the witch sees you, she addresses herself as Maple, apprentice of the great witch Syrup. She'll mention she needs Lon Lon Eggs, but you don't have any yet.
Maple is so miffed, she decides to take your things as well. Hurry and recover the spilled items, so you can get more than she does!
Maple will appear after every time you slay 30 monsters, so keep your guard up. However, she does have some things of value, better described in Maple's guide page. Link can manage to collect the rarest items if he has some Pegasus seeds, obtained in chapter 3. If you happen to obtain File:Zelda Oracles Ring 16.png Maple's ring, she'll appear after you slay 15 monsters. The more times you meet Maple, the faster she gets: therefore, DO NOT equip Maple's ring until you have some Pegasus seeds.
- Secret sage cave
Near where Maple appears are two trees. Burn the one on the left with an Ember Seed to discover a secret cave. A Sage is inside. Talk to him, and he gives you 100 Rupees!
Horon Village
[edit | edit source]Another Sage is in Horon Village. Go far to the southeast, and you'll find a house (Dr. Left's house) with three small trees. Burn the middle one to find him. You'll get 100 more Rupees!
There are several generous sages living in Holodrum who will
give you Rupees if you find them. However, there are imposters out there, too,
and they take Rupees!
- The Cuccodex
While you're in Horon Village, pay a visit to Dr. Left. He is having trouble reading because his torch isn't lit. Fortunatly, one Ember Seed will fix his problem. In gratitude, Dr. Left gives you a File:Zelda Oracles Cuccodex.PNG Cuccodex, a book on the different types of Cuccos. It will be important later.
While you're visiting Dr. Left, bomb the cracked wall in his house. It will open up a path to a chest, but only in the winter. The chest has 20 Rupees inside.
- The ember seed tree
West from Dr. Left's house is a mystical tree shaped like a flame. There are Ember Seeds growing from it. Remember this tree, because you can warp to it when you get another type of Mystical Seeds. Simply strike the tree with your sword to replenish on Ember Seeds and gain the power to warp there later on.
- Vasu's ring appraisals
In Horon Village, enter the building marked with a File:Zelda oos vasu emblem.PNG. Inside is Vasu, a ring appraiser. He and his compainions,
Red Snake and Blue Snake are known for giving value to great rings of power.
Vasu will give you a File:Zelda Oracles L-1 Ring Box.png L-1 Ring Box. He'll also give you an File:Zelda Oracles Ring 00.png Unidentified Ring and teach you how ring identifying works. Once identified it turns into the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 01.pngFriendship Ring (#01). This time's free, but it costs 20 Rupees afterward. Most Rings will have some sort of power, but the power will only work if they are equipped after being identified. If by chance Vasu appraises a ring you already have, he'll let you sell it for 30 Rupees.
- A piece of heart
Southwest of Horon Village is a small path to the right. Take it, and you'll
see a strange object near a tree. However, the tree is in the way, so you'll
need to get rid of it. Equip your Seed Satchel and use an Ember Seed on the Tree. You'll burn it, and gain access to your first File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Piece of Heart.
Heart Pieces are rare and hard to get in Holodrum, some requiring special items or conditions to get. Whenever you obtain four Heart Pieces, you'll get another heart in your Health Meter.
- Mayor Ruul's Gasha seeds
Ruul, Mayor of Horon Village, lives in a house to northeast. If you talk to him, he'll talk all about Gasha Seeds and the nuts that grow from the trees they sprout.
In fact, he gives you a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.pngGasha Seed so you can find out what he means. Outside his house is a patch of soft soil that you can plant the seed in. Later, you can come back and see if a tree has grown, and reap the rewards of the Gasha Nut. However, the tree disappears after you get the reward. You can do this whenever you get a Gasha Seed and find soft soil. It's usually just an File:Zelda Oracles Ring 00.png unidentified ring inside the nut. If you're lucky, you may get a File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Piece of Heart! You can improve your chances of getting it and better rewards with the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 59.png Gasha Ring equipped. Keep trying with Gasha trees, and this ring might become part of your collection.
You may think Ruul has only one Gasha Seed to offer, but there's a cracked wall in his home. Bomb it, and you'll find a secret room with a second File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed.
Holodrum
[edit | edit source]Eastern Suburbs
[edit | edit source]After you've explored Horon Village, it will be time to start hunting the item the Maku Tree mentioned.
- Sokra the Prophet
When you are ready to leave Horon Village, head to the far southeast to find
a path blocked by trees. However, a prophet named Sokra will wish to talk to you. He sees that the Season Spirits are calling for help, and that the Temple
of Seasons is hidden somewhere. Sokra tells you to visit the spirits if you can
find the temple for help, and then takes a nap. With that advice, take an Ember Seed and burn one of the trees to unblock the path to the southeast and leave Horon Village.
- Following Rosa
As soon as you leave the village, head north past the Octorocks, then northeast past the windmill, and east past the monsters.
A hooded girl will show up, Rosa, apparently panicking about a temple falling into a place called "Subrosia." She won't tell where it is, and runs off to return to it in secret. Of course, she just gave away how to get there: it's time to follow her!
Head in the direction Rosa went, and you'll find her. She's looking to see if she's being followed. Don't let her spot you, or she'll run! Instead, sneak around as she heads to Subrosia. When she gets close to her destination, she'll take a final peek to make sure she's alone.
Eventually, you'll reach a small field, where Rosa will... vanish? Swipe your
sword over the grass, and you'll find a strange portal. Step into it...
Subrosia
[edit | edit source]
The portal will warp you to the underworld of Subrosia, much more different than Holodrum. Its people are strange and hooded, and dwell in lava.
You'll see that your Rupee counter has changed: instead of Rupees, Subrosians use Ore as currency. You'll need to find some to buy items here.
If you talk to the Subrosians, they'll be in an uproar about a temple landing in the east plaza. That sounds familiar...
The first place you want to go to is down a path southwest. Head down that path until you reach a set of stairs. Go down them.
- The Subrosian Dance Hall
You'll enter the Subrosian Dance Hall, where you can be rewarded for good dancing. Talk to the leader in red, and he'll let you dance.
Now, you'll play a mini-game where you must move with the other dancers in perfect coordination. Listen to the leader's instructions and then watch his movements.
If you can last through the mini-game without bumping into the other
dancers, you'll get the File:Zelda Oracles Boomerang.PNG Boomerang (L-1) for your dance skills. The Boomerang can hit faraway objects and stun certain enemies. If you keep on playing you will eventually be rewarded with the File:Zelda Oracles Strange Flute.png Strange Flute which will become File:Zelda Oracles Dimitris Flute.png Dimitri's Flute later.
The Temple of Seasons: Tower of Winter
[edit | edit source]Now that you've got the Boomerang, head back to the location of the portal. This time, take the path on the far right. Go southeast, and you'll see the dancer who just won a boomerang himself. Keep going southeast, and you'll reach a small path, which will lead to a temple. Could it be...?
Your suspicions are realized as the four Season Spirits: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, greet you. This is indeed the Temple of Seasons. The Spirit of Winter tells you to get the Rod of Seasons and visit the spirits in the four corner towers.
With that, head straight forward to reach the central altar of the temple.
- The Rod of Seasons
You'll find the altar is much more inviting than harsh Subrosia. Head forward to find a pedestal. Stand on it, and the power of the Season Spirits will merge together and form the key item you need to restore Holodrum: theFile:Zelda Oracles Rod of Seasons.PNGRod of Seasons. When it holds the power of the Season Spirts, it can change the seasons.
- The tower of winter
Now that you have the rod, the Spirit of Winter will mention to visit the towers again. Unfortunately, three of the towers can't be visited right now. Because of the damage it took, the Tower of Autumn is unreachable, the Tower of Summer is locked shut, and the Tower of Spring is sealed up, only accessible through a secret entrance. This leaves only the Tower of Winter, which is the only one you can visit. Head southeast to find it.
The first room of this tower is blocked by a path of lava. On the other side, there is a switch, but you can't reach it. Equip the Boomerang, and throw it at the switch to hit it. You can also use a bomb as an alternative.
Triggering the switch makes a bridge appear over the lava, which lets you cross it, and reach a staircase.
At the top is the altar of the Spirit of Winter, a blue fairy. She bestows the Rod of Seasons a wintry chill: the File:Zelda Oracles Power of Winter.PNG Power of Winter. With this power you can change the season to winter when you swing the Rod of Seasons atop a stump.
Woods of Winter
[edit | edit source]- Linked game
- Tingle secret
(If you already cleared Oracle of Ages and linked to this game)
Next to the entrance of the Snake's Remains dungeon, there is a cave. The fairy in there will ask you to tell a secret to Tingle in Labrynna. Switch back to Oracle of Ages, go to the Forest of Time and talk to Tingle. He will give you a File:Zelda Oracles Seed Satchel.png Seed Satchel upgrade, and then he will tell you another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Seasons, go to Farore and tell her Tingle's secret: the seed satchel will be upgraded in this game, too.
If Link could carry 20 seeds per type in one game, the secret allows him to carry 50; a later upgrade in the same game will allow him to carry 99. If Link could already carry 50 seeds per type in one game (i.e. he received already the non-secret upgrade), the secret allows him to carry 99 in the same game.
When you leave the Tower of Winter, you'll be contacted by the Maku Tree again. He sees the item you needed is the Rod of Seasons, and it has the power to open new roads. He has also dreamt of woods to the east. There might be an essence there...
For now, it's time to leave Subrosia. Go back to the portal, and you'll return to Holodrum.
- Wintry chills
Now that you have both the Rod of Seasons and the Power of Winter, you'll find Sokra is waiting for you back in Holodrum on a tree stump. He'll explain what happens when you use the rod, and then tells you that he believes more entrances to Subrosia might exist. After he shares this advice, he heads back to Horon Village.
In order to trigger the rod's power, you need to hop onto the tree stump Sokra mentioned. Swing the rod, and you'll change the season to winter.
- Effects of winter
With one swipe of the rod, you'll find its power can alter the seasons almost anywhere. You'll find that with more season powers, you'll be able to unlock many hidden locations in Holodrum. However, some places have seasons that can't be changed. You can only use the power of the Rod of Seasons on a tree stump. Otherwise, nothing will happen.
Each season also has unique affects in Holodrum. During the winter, three things happen:
- Snowdrifts pile up, either blocking the way forward or acting as bridges to pave the way through.
- Water freezes, making bridges you can walk across.
- Trees with big leaves shed them, letting you get past the trees.
You'll also find that different enemies appear during different seasons. For instance, by changing the season to winter, a Blue Octorok has appeared nearby. It's tougher than a Red Octorock, and requires a few more hits to kill.
NOTE: along with new enemies, four Golden Monsters appear during certain seasons. They are exceedingly tougher to defeat. However, you may find hunting them will be worth it. The Golden Monsters sub-quest can only be completed during Chapter 7.
- Heart piece
Head back to where you entered the woods through Horon Village while it's still winter. Go straight to the south-east corner, and then up north past the stump. Up here are two ledges, and a snowdrift has piled up to form a bridge between them. Cross it, and you'll discover a cave on the left ledge. The cave holds another File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Piece of Heart.
- The Woods of Winter
Now that you have made it winter, go east across the frozen pond. You'll head into the Woods of Winter. The Woods of Winter houses another new enemy: the Leever. They burrow up from below the ground and attack, but they are weak and easy to kill. From there, travel south.
Two Moblins are here, and they'll throw spears at you. Ignore them, and quickly run by.
Go north, and you'll find snow blocks the way ahead. There's nothing to do to get rid of it, so you can only go east.
These trees would normally have thick leaves and block the way forward, but in winter, they don't. Simply go under them and continue onward. Note that a tree stump is here as well.
There is a Piece of Heart here, but a rock's in the way. It won't budge. Maybe you'll find something later.
Head further north, and you'll see a Blue Moblin. He is harder to defeat than his red kind, but he is completely avoidable.
- Unfriendly sage cave
If you continue north, you'll see several small trees. Burn the farthest one with an Ember Seed, and you'll uncover an entrance. However, DON'T go in. The sage inside wanted to be left alone, and he'll get 50 Rupees from you, because you burned down his door! Simply defeat the Moblins up north and head on.
- Holly's house
When you go as far north as possible, you'll reach a house. However, it's locked. A sign outside the door says Santa is welcome. Well, the house has a chimney, so you could make an entrance just like Santa!
Go west a little bit, and you'll find a tree stump. Use it to make it winter. Now, go up the nearby stairs and head east past the Moblin (ignore the nearby cave: there's nothing useful in there).
You'll see the door of the house is now open, but it's blocked by snow. However, a huge snowdrift has piled up by the house's chimney, and you can walk on it. Head right over to the chimney and hop inside.
Inside, you'll find Holly, who is rather shook up by your sudden entrance. She wants you to clean her walkway, and gives you a File:Zelda Oracles Shovel.png Shovel to keep.
Now, you can dig up snow, dirt, and sand. Usually, you'll find hearts, Rupees, and seeds underneath, but you may come across Beetles. They're easly disposed with one sword swipe. If you're lucky, you may even find buried treasure!
Try digging up the snow outside Holly's house with the shovel. It's the same as the snow you saw before, so go to the blocked path and dig your way through.
- 30 Rupees
However, before moving on, if you want some easy money, head west past Holly's house when it's not winter to find a sealed cave. Blow it open, and inside is a chest with 30 Rupees.
- The mystery seed tree
When you get past the snow, you'll find a tree shaped like a question mark. This is the Mystery Seed tree. Growing on it is a new kind of seed: File:Zelda Oracles Mystery Seed.png Mystery Seeds. Cut them down from the tree to start carrying them. These strange seeds have random effects on what they touch. Try one out on the owl statue nearby. Owl statues react to Mystery Seeds, and give you helpful hints when you need them.
- The second dungeon
Head north past the tree and you'll find the path curves over to the west. There are a few caves here, but not much to do in them. Follow the path to the west, and you'll reach the entrance of dungeon number two, Snake's Remains.
DUNGEON: Snake's Remains
[edit | edit source]Snake's Remains may be only the second dungeon, but it is far more treacherous than Gnarled Root Dungeon. Deadly traps and more powerful foes await. The dungeon layout is vaguely reminiscent of the layout of the second dungeon in Legend of Zelda 1.
The dungeon has two parts to it, and it proves a step up from before. You'll find being in here isn't so safe.
Small key n.1
[edit | edit source]As soon as you enter the first room, you'll see it's dark, and the door ahead is locked. If you light both torches in this room with Ember Seeds, the door will open.
You can go north from there, or go west. Since there is a key located in the west path, you should go there first.
Upon going that way, you'll encounter two spike traps and many Green Zols as you have to cross a narrow path. If you go to the far left of the path, you'll find a chest with five Rupees. Not much, but still something.
When you head further north, you'll get locked in a room with several Ropes, poisonous snakes. They'll charge at you if you get near them. Defeat them all to get the File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key. Now, go back to the first room and head north.
The compass
[edit | edit source]The room ahead seems harmless, but don't be tricked. The torches are bewitched, and they will shoot fireballs at you. They can't be stopped, so get out of this room fast and avoid the Zols. There is a small path to the southeast you can take.
In this room, Ropes will actually fall from the ceiling! Avoid them and take a look at the blocks here. One block is not in formation with the rest. Push it one space to the right, and a chest will appear. Open it, and instead of getting the Dungeon Map first, it's the File:Zelda Oracles Compass.png Compass. With it, go back through the torch trap room into the next one.
Secret room
[edit | edit source]This time, you'll get locked in with both Ropes and Moblins. The Moblins are armed with bows, and will shoot arrows at you. However, before you defeat the enemies, take a good look at the blocks in this room. Notice how they're shaped like an arrow? Not just that, the arrow's pointing at a spot in the wall! Bomb that place, and you'll uncove a secret room. What's inside? 49 Green Rupees! Much better than 5!
The power bracelet
[edit | edit source]After you snag that big payday, go back and defeat all the enemies to open up all the doors. However, the one you want to go through is the locked door.
This room has another new and very annoying enemy: Hardhat Beetles. Their shells are so strong, you can't defeat them with your sword. However, there are two pits in this room. If you knock the Hardhat Beetles into the pits, you'll be rid of them and make the door to the west open.
Another type of Moblins, Pig Moblins, are in this room. However, they're on the other side of a large pit. You don't have the means to jump over it yet, but you do have bombs. Toss them over the pit so they blow up the Pig Moblins. If you run out of bombs, you can cut the plants for more, and they'll grow back. You can use the Boomerang to stun them, then bomb them. Once you defeat them, you'll be rewarded with a chest, and inside is the File:Zelda Oracles Power Bracelet.png Power Bracelet. This bracelet's special powers make you strong when you wear it, and you can push or lift heavy objects while using it. Equip it, and go back to the last room.
The dungeon map
[edit | edit source]Try out the Power Bracelet on the pot in front the chest. You can pick it up, and toss it out of your way. Press the button you've equipped it to and push the Control Pad in the opposite direction you're facing. Open the chest for the File:Zelda Oracles Dungeon Map.png Dungeon Map.
Small key n.2
[edit | edit source]Now that you have the Power Bracelet, go back to the room where the arrow block is. This time, head east.
There are several Ropes falling into the room and a few Red Zols. There is another set of blocks like in the Compass room. Push the one out-of-place block to where it belongs. This will open the doors.
The next room has a very dangerous trap in it: the Giant Blade Trap. These monstrosities sweep across the floors, taking out anything in their way. One is yellow, and the other is red. The yellow one moves fast, but the red is very fast. Run away from the traps to avoid taking damage, and go over to the chest in this room to get another File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.
When you get past the giant spike traps, go south, because you're going to need two keys before moving on, and this path leads to another one.
‎ |
Small key n.3
[edit | edit source]After you enter this room, you'll find several Keese, and several large, steel rollers blocking the path. By holding the button you've equipped it to, you can use the Power Bracelet to push the rollers out of your way. Push them as far as they can go, because they'll roll back after you let go, and they can hurt you.
Once you get past all the rollers, you'll reach a staircase. Go up it, and you'll actually end up leaving the dungeon for a minute.
You'll wind up at a small area with a chest. Inside is a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed. Head left from there to reach a subsection of the dungeon.
The first room of the subsection has a few Green Zols and Ropes. Ignore them. Simply cut the grass and move on. If you're out of bombs, a Deku Scrub is hiding in this room. He'll give you 10 bombs for 30 Rupees.
The next room holds the Small Key, but there's a catch: take too long in here, and the chest goes away! You'll need to blow up the cracked blocks in your way with bombs, and hurry down the path to the chest. If you're fast, you'll get the File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key. Now, go back to the main dungeon to the point where you went south.
Towards the sub-boss
[edit | edit source]Blow up the cracked blocks and go east. If you're running low on bombs, cut the grass. There is a staircase at the end of the path. It will take you into the basement.
You'll find a Thwomp (From the Mario series) guarding the path to the left. He'll smash you if you get too close. Try to lure him to drop, and then run over his head across the spikes and past the Keese.
Four smaller Thwomps called Thwimps (Also from the Mario series) guard this area. However, a quick run past them without stopping will get you to safety. You'll reach the ladder that goes back upstairs.
This room has some more rollers in it. Push them out of the way. If you want to, look for a chest in here. It has 10 Rupees in it.
Once you get past the first set of rollers, the path will get more dangerous. There are pits and cracked floors. You don't want to push the rollers over cracked tiles: you may fall through! If you are wearing File:Zelda Oracles Ring 35.pngRoc's Ring, then you're safe. When you enter the room ahead, you'll face the mini-boss.
SUB-BOSS: Facade
[edit | edit source]The mini-boss is Facade, a large, evil face. He has several vile attacks at his disposal.
He can shoot out fire, which will scatter across the room, summon Beetles, which you can defeat easily, and open holes in the floor, which will come after you.
However, when Facade shows himself, he is vulnerable. Drop a bomb on his face to injure him. The Beetles will drop bombs when defeated if you run out.
With enough hits, Facade will retreat, allowing you to move on. However, this won't be the last you see of him.
The boss key
[edit | edit source]After Facade is defeated, you'll be able to move on to the next room. Here, there are a few Keese and a Moblin. Defeat them to avoid conflict. Now, look for three pots in a corner. Use the Power Bracelet on the one furthest out, and then blow up the cracked wall behind it with a bomb. You'll open up another room.
This room is filled with PolsVoice, rabbit-like monsters. They can't be reached from where they are, and the torch in this room is bewitched like the two from earlier. Since you can't attack them, use bombs on them, and they'll be defeated. (Note: If you have the Strange Flute, either bought from the shop or won from the subrosian dance doesn't matter, playing that will kill them)
When all the PolsVoice are defeated, the door in here will open. However, don't go ahead. Instead, backtrack to the room where you blew open the wall and head east. You'll reach a small block with a keyhole. Use your Small Key to on the block to open the path.
This room has several Stalfos and Sparks, enemies that follow the edges of blocks and walls in a set path. You'll be damaged if they make contact with you. To defeat them, hit them with the boomerang, which will make a fairy appear.
The enemies in here don't guard anything in particular, so you can just go on through to the room to the east.
A pair of spike traps and numerous Ropes are in this room. Hurry past them before they can damage you. If they do, lift the pots in the room's upper-right corner to get hearts. After you get past, go south into the next room.
Another new puzzle is in this room: moving platforms over a pit. Seeing as how you can't jump yet, you'll have to time your movements correctly to cross onto the platforms when they come together. You'll need to go to the right in here, not left, because the platform that moves furthest to the right will lead you to a path that ends at a chest. Open it to get the File:Zelda Oracles Boss Key.png Boss Key.
Path to the boss
[edit | edit source]Now that you've acquired the Boss Key, go back through the room where the PolsVoice where and go on to the room ahead.
A strange, new obstacle resides here: a turntable. Right now, the turntable is blue, and is showing a blue arrow going counter-clockwise. That means if you get on the turntable, you'll be moved counter-clockwise 90 degrees (west to south) You want to go that way, because it will lead to the boss.
Note that when you do, the turntable will turn red, flashing a yellow arrow clockwise. That means you'll be moved clockwise 90 degrees if you hop back on it, but you don't need to. The final thing keeping you from the boss is a set of three platforms moving across a pit. You can easily cross onto them to the other side of the pit, and defeat the Ropes from there.
Now, smash as many pots as you need to so you're at full health, and go east.
Lift the pot out of the way with the Power Bracelet, and head onward to fight
the boss.
BOSS: Dodongo
[edit | edit source]The boss of Snake's Remains is Dodongo, a fierce, fire-spitting lizard. His armored skin is impervious to your sword, and he will blast you with fire or charge at you if you get anywhere near him. He was already the boss of the second dungeon in Legend of Zelda 1.
However, there is one big weakness to this monster: when Dodongo opens his mouth to spit fire, toss a bomb inside his mouth.
When Dodongo eats the bomb, it will explode in his stomach, leaving him stunned. Even though Dodongo is unharmed by sword strikes, he has a soft underbelly. Using the Power Bracelet, pick the beast up and toss him onto the pit of spikes in the middle of the room. Dodongo will take damage! Keep stunning Dodongo with bombs, and tossing him onto the pit, and the monster will surrender.
After Dodongo falls, you'll be rewarded with another File:Zelda Oracles Heart Container.png Heart Container.
Now, you can progress to the room in the southeast corner, where you'll obtain the File:Zelda Oracles Gift of Time.PNG Gift of Time, the second Essence of Nature. "Seeds sprout as seasons change with the Gift of Time!"
Spool Swamp and Poison Moth's Lair
After claiming the Gift of Time, you'll be warped out of the dungeon once more, and be contacted by the Maku Tree. The Gift of Time has restored more of his strength, and he has dreamt of Spool Swamp. Something strange is happening there, but exactly what could it be...?
Before the next quest
[edit | edit source]- Linked game
- Simmetry secret
(If you already cleared Oracle of Ages and linked to this game)
After the second dungeon, you can access the Hall of Secrets under the Maku Tree.
In the northeast part of the Woods of Winter resides Holly, but only during winter. After clearing the 2nd dungeon, Holly will have a guest. The girl in blue will ask you to tell a secret to the twin girls in Labrynna. Switch back to Oracle of Ages, go to Simetry City, travel back in time and talk to any of the twins in the central building. They will give you a File:Zelda OraclesL-3 Ring Box.PNG Ring Box upgrade, and then they will tell you another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Seasons, go to Farore and tell her the Simmetry secret: the ring box will be upgraded in this game, too.
If Link owned a L-1 ring box in one game, the secret upgrades it to L-2; a later upgrade in the same game will turn it into a L-3 box. If Link owned a L-2 ring box already (i.e. through the non-secret upgrade), the secret upgrades it to L-3.
With Snake's Remains completed, you now have the Power Bracelet. With it, you'll be able to pick up the heavy rocks and Stone Mushrooms in Holodrum you'll find.
Woods of Winter
[edit | edit source]Remember the Heart Piece that was blocked off in the Woods of Winter? Make the season winter and re-enter the woods. This time, you can lift the rock out of the way with the Power Bracelet and get your next File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Piece of Heart.
With this Heart Piece, you're now ready to return to Horon Village.
Horon Village
[edit | edit source]- Linked game
- Forest fairy secret
(If you already cleared Oracle of Ages and linked to this game)
Next to the fountain in Horon village there is a lady in red. She will ask you to tell a secret to the forest fairies in Labrynna. Switch back to Oracle of Ages, go to the Fairy Forest and talk to the fairy in the north-west corner. She will give you an extra File:Zelda Oracles Heart Container.png Heart Container, and then she will tell you another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Seasons, go to Farore and tell her the Faerie's secret: the Heart Container will be copied to this game.
If you pay a visit to the Maku Tree, you'll notice he's grown a little bit from the essences you've recovered. Not just that, but an entrance has appeared. If you go inside, you'll meet Farore, Oracle of Secrets. She is able to decode secrets, allowing you to obtain new powers. Her Book of Secrets will list the ones you've learned, and the ones you have yet to find.
In the southwestern corner of Horon Village there is a chest. Exit and re-enter the village until it is autumn. Then, go to the chest, pick the mushrooms and claim 20 Rupees.
North Horon
[edit | edit source]You can catch up on your trade quest. Head north of Horon Village to the path to Gnarled Root Dungeon. However, you'll want to go east before heading further north. The path will take you to Talon and Malon's house.
Malon is a bit preoccupied caring for the Cuccos while her dad is away at Mt. Cucco. She's having a lot of trouble figuring out what to do. Fortunately, your Cuccodex (obtained in Horon village) is full of all the information she needs. She gives you a File:Zelda Oracles Lon Lon Egg.PNG Lon Lon Egg in return. Wait a minute: didn't Maple mention she needed a Lon Lon Egg?
Now, you'll need to make Maple appear. Defeat the required number of enemies (30 or 15 if you equip Maple's ring) and go to a place where she'll appear. When you bump into her, she'll want your Lon Lon Egg. If you give it to her, she'll give you a File:Zelda Oracles Ghastly Doll.PNG Ghastly Doll, which is very frightening to some people.
Now, it's time to head into Holodrum Plain and explore.
HOLODRUM: Spool Swamp
[edit | edit source]- Linked game
- rescue Zelda
(If you already cleared Oracle of Ages and linked to this game)
In a linked game Princess Zelda will come to Holodrum, but she will be attacked by the Great Moblin's henchmen on the way to Holodrum Plains. Link has to protect Zelda and defeat the moblins. The Princess will reward Link with the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 38.pngBlue Joy Ring (n.38). Anyway, in Oracle of Ages Link may already have found the Gold Joy Ring (n.39), that trumps this one.
Holodrum plain
[edit | edit source]- Linked game
(If you already cleared Oracle of Ages and linked to this game)
In a linked game Link will get the same flute he had in Oracle of Ages. If it wasn't Ricky's flute, he will meet either Dimitri or Moosh in Spool Swamp, and get the old flute back.
Head north just a little ways until the path branches off to the west. From there, just follow the path. When it leads to a second path that branches north, go there.
- Ricky, the boxing kangaroo
You'll find a kangaroo is up here. Her name is Ricky, but she's upset about losing her gloves in a boxing match to a guy named Blaino, her rival.
(NOTE: Ricky is a female kangaroo, because the kangaroo pouch corresponds to the placenta in other mammals. The English translation of the manual has an error.)
Blaino doesn't live that far away. Go back east and take the path north. However, you'll run into a new type of Mystical Seed first.
- The scent seed tree
This particular Mystical Tree holds File:Zelda Oracles Scent Seed.png Scent Seeds, seeds that attract monsters when cracked open. They have no real purpose now, but these seeds could be useful ammo for a weapon someday.
Go one screen east, then one screen south from here and you'll find Blaino's Gym. Be careful, because a Spiny Beetle dwells nearby.
- Blaino's gym
Inside the gym is Blaino, a legendary boxer. He's willing to face you in a boxing match if you bet 10 Rupees. It's a boxing match where you face off against Blaino until somebody gets knocked out of the ring. However, Blaino wants a fair match and doesn't want you cheating with any items or rings. Make sure you don't break his rules or he'll charge 20 Rupees for the next match.
When you face off against Blaino, he will try smack you with his gloves as many times as possible. The key to defeating him is to punch fast and furiously. Namely, jam the A button!
If you push Blaino back far enough with your punches, he'll be knocked out of the ring. He'll crown you the new champ and reward you with File:Zelda Oracles Ricky's Gloves.PNG Ricky's Gloves. Ricky will be happy to get these back!
- Ricky's flute
After you return to Ricky her gloves, she'll see that you must be strong and wishes to help you. She gives you File:Zelda Oracles Rickys Flute.png Ricky's Flute, which you can use to call her whenever.
However, if you don't want Ricky as your companion, buy a Strange Flute from Horon Shop (if you want Moosh) or win one at the Subrosian Dance Hall (if you want Dimitri).
Now that Ricky has her gloves back, she's willing to take you to his backyard, Spool Swamp, allowing you to hop in her pouch. You'll now be able to control Ricky, and get a few special powers from the kangaroo.
Ricky then tells you how to control her. You can move her with the D-Pad just as you would with Link. Press the A button to punch or save power. Doing this will allow Ricky to shoot a tornado. She can also jump small gaps. Press the B button to dismount her.
- Secret sage
Before you head off to Spool Swamp, there is a sage you can reach if you have Ricky's Flute. Call her after going back across the bridge and narrow pass and down one screen, or she won't come. You can take Ricky up to a jumpable ledge, but beware the River Zora. Dismount and use an Ember Seed on the right tree to find a sage who'll give you a super payday: 200 Rupees!
- To Spool Swamp!
The path to Spool Swamp begins south of where you met Ricky, but it's blocked holes. Fortunately, Ricky can jump right over them.
Head further south and you'll run into Blue Octoroks and Buzz Blobs. Ricky can take these out with a single punch. There are a few small trees close by, but one only hides a sage who'll take your money to fix his door: 100 Rupees worth!
- The iron pot
Go west, and you'll find Mrs. Ruul's House. Mrs. Ruul, wife of Mayor Ruul has a problem she needs help with. It's too hot, and she needs something to cool down with. One glance at the Ghastly Doll gives her shivers. As a reward for helping her, she exchanges the doll with an File:Zelda Oracles Iron Pot.PNG Iron Pot.
Spool swamp
[edit | edit source]- Linked game
- Mamamu secret
(If you already cleared Oracle of Ages and linked to this game)
After Link opens the flood gate in Spool Swamp, visit the gatekeeper again. His wife will ask you to tell a secret to the their daughter Mamamu in Labrynna. Switch back to Oracle of Ages, go to Lynna City and talk to Mamamu Yan. She will thank you for the message, but then she will ask you to find her dog, who got lost in town. When you find the dog, grab it with the power glove. As a reward, Mamamu Yan will give you the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 34.pngSnowshoe Ring. Bring it to Lynna City jewelry, have Vasu appraise it, then ask a new ring secret to the Red Snake. Switch again to Oracle of Seasons, go to the jewelry in Horon Village and tell the new ring secret to the Red Snake: the ring collection will be updated with the Snowshoe ring.
If Link didn't have any strange flute yet, Ricky will give him Ricky's flute. As soon as Ricky leaves, the entrance to the swamp is to the west. A tree gives Pegasus seeds in autumn.
The Pegasus seeds are essential to get a File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Piece of Heart from Maple.
Follow the only path to the gatekeeper's house. Inside, operate the switch and get the floodgate key. The gatekeeper tells you that the corresponding keyhole is beyond the tunnel outside his home. It actually leads to the other side of the basin. A Deku Scrub offers a shield for 50 R: it is a bad deal. Open the floodgate, then go a bit north and jump in the emptied basin.
If Link won the Subrosian Dance Contest twice, he'll meet Dimitri the dodongo in the swamp and receive Dimitri's flute. If he purchased a strange flute in Horon village, he'll meet Moosh the winged bear and receive Moosh's flute. If Link owns Ricky's flte, he has to summon her[1] in order to proceed. A Subrosian gate is found at the end of the path, to the south-west.
(Optional: if Link turns the season to winter, he can access a small cave in the south-east corner of Spool Swamp. There, he can obtain an item required in chapter 6.)
- ↑ Ricky is a female kangaroo, because a kangaroo pouch is part of female genitals (it covers the milk udders). Nevertheless, male kangaroos with pouch may exist in a world where bears have wings.
Subrosia seaside
[edit | edit source]The gate in the swamp leads to an area of Subrosia dominated by two features: the market and the seaside. On the shore you can meet Rosa, the subrosian star, again; she lost her ribbon. The market sells a new one, as well as some useful items: a Heart piece, a bomb bag upgrade and a cheap wooden shield. Go to the beach and dig with the shovel until you collect 70 ore chunks and a star-shaped ore. Now you can head back to the market and buy everything you need.
List of wares in Subrosia market | |||
---|---|---|---|
Tile | 1st item | 2nd item | Final item |
1 | Ribbon (trade for star-shaped ore) | File:Zelda Oracles Bomb.png 30-Bombs Bag upgrade (trade for 50 ore chunks plus 10 bombs) | Gasha seed (trade for 100 ore chunks plus 20 scent seeds) |
2 | File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Piece of heart (trade for 20 ore chunks plus 10 ember seeds) | File:Zelda Oracles Ring 00.pngFile:Zelda Oracles Ring 00.pngFile:Zelda Oracles Ring 00.pngFile:Zelda Oracles Ring 00.png 4 Magic rings (trade for 30, 40, 50, 70 ore chunks, respectively) | 4 Ember seeds (trade for 5 ore chunks) |
3 | File:Zelda Oracles L-1 Shield.png L-1 Wooden shield (trade for 5 ember seeds) | - | 10 Pegasus seeds (trade for 25 ore chunks) |
4 | - | - | 3 Hearts (trade for 10 ore chunks) |
5 | Member's card (trade for 5 ore chunks) | - | 10 Ore chunks (trade for 20 gale seeds) |
- Shopping suggestions:
- The ribbon is necessary to progress in the game.
- The Wooden shield is far more cheap here than anywhere else in the game.
- The four magic rings belong to the rarity tiers 1-2
- The Member's card allows to access the back shop in Horon Village; it will become available later, after you obtained five Essences of Nature.
Bring the ribbon to Rosa, and she'll invite Link to explore the Temple of Seasons with her. The key she carries can open any door.
Tower of Summer
[edit | edit source]From the Subrosian seaside, travel all the way north. Open the doors with Rosa's key, then proceed east to the temple. The north-west tower has another locked door that now can be opened. Open a path using the power bracelet, climb to the top and obtain the Power of Summer.
You can now head back to the magic gate and to Spool Swamp. Travel all the way north with the help of either Ricky, Dimitri or Moosh. Get on the stump and change the season to summer. Before entering the dungeon, Link can go back towards the entrance of the swamp. Climb the summer vines, dig near the signpost and get a magic ring (random, from tiers 1-2).
Now Link can enter the dungeon, just one screen north from the stump.
DUNGEON: Poison Moth's Lair
[edit | edit source]Poison Moth's Lair is a very uninviting dungeon, filled with a melee of traps and many narrow corridors. You won't want to let your guard down, even for a second.
The File:Zelda Oracles Ring 36.pngQuicksand ring (n.36) will be very useful in this dungeon. If that ring is in your collection, visit Vasu the jeweler before you enter Poison Moth's Lair.
The moth-like carving outside the dungeon fortells the worst danger dwelling here: keep that in mind.
Map
[edit | edit source]As you head into the dungeon, you'll face monsters right away. Three Spiked Beetles roam the first room. You can consult an owl statue for hints if you explore the area to the west before going on. When they charge at you, make contact with your shield, and they'll flip over. Upside down, they can easily be slayed. When they're all gone, the door here will open.
The next room has a Mini-Moldorm patrolling the floor.
To your left is a big pit. A platform is passing across it, but it never comes to you, so you can't reach it yet. You'll need to come back later. For now, continue around the corner.
Some more Spiked Beetles await. You'll also see a blue trampoline across the room: it holds no purpose right now.
Along the way, there is a second platform that doesn't come all the way over, so it's out of reach.
At the end of the path, you'll be attacked by Floormasters. Defeat them, and smash through the first few pots here. You'll see a switch that opens the door, but only when held down. Go around the switch to the lower-right corner of the room to find two pots. Smash the one on the right and carefully push the one on the left down until you get it placed on the switch. You won't need the Power Bracelet to push it.
The following room contains Arm-Mimics, which will imitate your movements. A few sword slashes will defeat them, but they can be hard to corner. A Whisp is also present: strike it with the boomerang to defeat it; this is the only effective weapon on a Whisp.
With all the enemies gone, you have a clear path to the staircase, but you'll need a key first. Go west to find it.
You'll see another path branches off to the south. If you try heading further west, you'll press a switch that causes all the brown-paneled floor to crumble.
The room at the end of the southern path has a few rollers you can push out of the way, but a few cracks in the floor. Carefully head forward until you reach the chest in here. Open it for a File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key. You can get out through a shortcut if you push a small block up. It's located at the end of the path past the chest. Now, go back and climb the staircase.
Two PolsVoice are here. You can use bombs, but they have a secret weakness: if you play a flute, the loud music will overwhelm the PolsVoice. PolsVoice despise anything loud and will flee when something noisy bugs them. Why? Their ears are just too big! With the PolsVoice gone, push the block in the upper-right corner to go north.
Defeat the two Mini-Moldorms, and a chest will appear. It has ten bombs inside, which hints on what to do next.
There is a small area marked on the floor, hinting to a hidden room. Bomb the spot in the marked area to uncover the entrance to the room. Inside, you'll find the File:Zelda Oracles Dungeon Map.png Dungeon Map.
Roc's feather
[edit | edit source]After you get the Dungeon Map, go back the way you came. Now, push the block right next to the one you pushed before down. Then, go over to the block in the lower-left corner and push it out to go west.
As you venture down the hall, you'll find two sets of six statues. One set is aligned perfectly, but the other one isn't. In order to proceed, you must put the statues in the right order.
There are four steps to putting them in the proper order:
-
Step 1: Push every statue down except the two out of place.
-
Step 2: Push the red statue 1 space to the left.
-
Step 3: Push the purple statue to its proper place.
-
Step 4: Push the red statue to its proper place.
With the statues realigned, the door will open.
The next few rooms are heavily guarded by enemies: Peahats, Mini-Moldorms, Whisps, and Green Zols all block your way forward. Fight your way through them, and when you get to the Whisps, go straight north: the path to the left is a dead end.
The last line of defense is a pair of Hardhat Beetles and Green Zols. They guard a narrow walkway to a locked door. Carefully make your way past without falling, or else you'll end up tumbling down one floor into a room full of enemies and you'll have to climb back up. However, there is a chest with 30 Rupees as well. You can get it now, but you'll get a better chance later.
When you open the locked door, you'll find four Arm-Mimics and a green Spike Trap circling around the room. Unlike most traps, this one won't stop moving. There is also a moving floor that can make defeating the Arm-Mimics a pain. Even if you don't move, the floor can move the Arm-Mimics. Try to bunch them up and carefully defeat them.
When you've defeated them all, you'll be rewarded with a chest. Inside is the File:Zelda Oracles Rocs Feather.png Roc's Feather (L-1). This feather makes you lighter, and allows you to jump one tile at will. Now, you can jump over gaps, deep water, and even enemy attacks. You can also jump without moving, and hop over any traps or monsters in your way.
Compass
[edit | edit source]- Alternate route
Before you move on, you can make an optional detour: there is a platform to your left that is now in reach. It leads to a pit that provides a shortcut to the Compass; then, Link will navigate this section backwards, until the location shown below.
Now that Roc's Feather is in your arsenal, go back to the last room. Either head down or fall into the lower floor below.
Now, you can simply jump over the water to claim the 30 Rupees if you haven't already. Go east, and you'll come across the platform that was previously out of reach. With good timing, you can jump onto it, and then jump over to the other side. From here, take the path you used before to the second platform that never came over. Jump onto it when it get close enough, and it will take to the entrance to the basement.
When you enter the basement, you'll be near a Thwomp. However, you don't want to go all the way down. Jump from the ladder onto the Thwomp's flat top, and when he comes back up, jump across the two platforms onto the second Thwomp, and jump over to the next room from there.
You'll be swarmed by Keese here. Jump across the moving platforms to reach a ladder headed upstairs. The gap between the second platform and the ladder is larger than one tile, but a good jump from above can land you by the ladder if you hold File:Game Boy-Dpad-Right.png.
You'll find a blue trampoline is inside this room. There is also a strange-colored tile over by the staircase you came up. Perhaps it marks where the trampoline should go? Push it over onto the tile and jump on it. You'll be launched up a floor, and land into a room with a chest. You have a clear path to another File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.
Now, fall back down to the room below and use the staircase on the other side.
You'll find yourself running into some more rollers, but in exchange for cracked floor tiles, you must now navigate across spikes. This is the first time you will need to use a item combination to move on.
Equip both the Power Bracelet and Roc's Feather, and push the rollers out of your way. Then, jump across the spikes that block your path forward.
After you've completed that puzzle, you'll come to a place where a chest resides, but it can't be reached from the right side of the room. There is only one way to get it: fall down into the room below.
Here, you'll be able to get a helpful hint from an owl statue. Use the trampoline to jump up to the left side of the room and claim the File:Zelda Oracles Compass.png Compass.
Sub-boss: Calamareye trio
[edit | edit source]After getting the Compass, drop back down to the lower room and take the staircase down to the basement.
This room will take you back to the one with 30 Rupee chest. You can jump across from above (the tricky way), or ride the platforms down below and jump when they get near a ledge (the easy way). Either path leads to the staircase back. Taking the high road requires a lot of jumping, and fighting off Keese, while the low road requires only three jumps and has fewer Keese.
After you return, it's only a matter of backtracking to the brown-paneled floor.
When you reach it, simply jump over the trap switch and the floor will stay intact. You have a clear shot forward to a locked door, but you can make a quick detour for a Gasha Seed.
There is a small path right by the door you can take. It has a moving floor, which can impede your movement, and a Green Spike Trap waiting to skewer you. However, a simple well-timed jump over it will be enough to dodge it. You'll find an owl statue to consult on the path, and at the end, a chest with a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed inside.
Now, get your health filled up with the pots outside the locked door: on the other side is the miniboss.
The minibosses are Calamareye, a trio of sharp-tempered squids. They attack anyone who enters their lair. The Calamareye will open their mouths to spit fire each time they emerge from one of eight pools of shallow water. When you try to attack them, they'll dive for cover, and they can't be harmed in the water. However, what about on land?
Equip your Power Bracelet and wait for one of the Calamareye to emerge. Yank it out of the water, and toss it over to dry land. Unable to breathe on land, it will flop around, vulnerable to sword strikes. However, it will soon make a mad dash back to the water, so get as many hits in as you can. Do this to all three and they'll surrender.
After the battle ends, a panel will open in the lower-right corner of the room, revealing a staircase.
Boss key
[edit | edit source]The staircase will take you to a long path that winds around over the room where the Peahats lurk. There are two ledges you can jump across. Simply go up to the ledge and you'll jump automatically. It will take you to a hole that leads into a lower room.
Here, a Giant Blade Trap is circling the room. If you wish to avoid it, push the block in the upper corner or the third block from the top. The chest with the Boss Key is blocked off, but the fourth block from the top can be pushed into the pit.
Use Roc's Feather to jump over the gap and retrieve the File:Zelda Oracles Boss Key.png Boss Key.
Path to the boss
[edit | edit source]Now, go down to the lower end of the blocks and push the one at the bottom to get back to the first room. Head straight down and use the warp point.
Go back up the staircase and jump across the first ledge on the path. Just ignore the Peahats, and head east to reach the boss.
BOSS: Mothula
[edit | edit source]The greatest threat here now awaits you: Mothula. Mothula is the boss of the dungeon, which lives up to its name. Mothula is a rather tricky boss, because it has far more different skills than the bosses before it.
Mothula circles around the room, shooting fireballs at you as it flies. It may also spawn Baby Mothulas to protect itself. They can be destroyed quickly, but they can also get in the way.
If Mothula flashes blue, it will spawn four spinning fireballs around itself. The fireballs will expand out, making it tough to land an attack on the monster.
If Mothula flashes red, he'll release four Baby Mothula as a way of preventing you from landing an attack. He can also summon them at anytime at will.
Fortunately, Mothula's powers aren't easy to call on. It takes a lot of energy for the creature to use them. After a while, Mothula will get tired and settle on one of the two platforms in the middle of the room, vulnerable to attack.
Use Roc's Feather to jump across the two platforms and dodge Mothula's attacks. Mothula is easier to defeat from the platforms, but you can still hit him as he circles around. You risk losing health by attacking Mothula head-on or falling down the pit by attacking from the platforms.
If you fall through the gap in the floor, you can use the trampoline to jump back up. However, Mothula will fully recover his energy and the battle will restart.
As Mothula gets near its defeat, it will start spawning greater numbers of Baby Mothula and summon a larger shield of six spinning fireballs.
If you are able to best the poison-fanged Mothula, it will perish, unable to recover. In his place will be another File:Zelda Oracles Heart Container.png Heart Container.
A panel will have opened in the room to reveal a staircase. The path to the third essence has been opened. You'll find the File:Zelda Oracles Bright Sun.PNG Bright Sun awaits. Young shoots grow quickly under the warm rays of the Bright Sun!
Mount Cucco and Dancing Dragon Dungeon
Before the next quest
[edit | edit source]Visit the Maku tree and enter the trunk: you will find a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha seed.
- Linked game
- Troy secret
(If you already cleared Oracle of Ages and linked to this game)
After you cleared the 3rd dungeon, visit the the windmill in the east suburbs. A young man near the musician will ask you to tell a secret to Dr. Troy in Labrynna. Switch back to Oracle of Ages, go to East Rolling Ridge, and talk to Troy in a mini-game hall. He will ask you to complete the mini-game, and if you succeed, he will give you File:Zelda Oracles Bombchu.png 10 Bombchus and another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Seasons, go to Farore and tell her Troy's secret: Link will obtain th Bombchus in this game, too.
If Link runs out of bombchus, he can buy more in the Sunken City.
- Linked game
- King Zora secret
(If you already cleared Oracle of Ages and linked to this game)
After you cleared the 3rd dungeon, visit the Hero's Cave on the West Coast. Using the Power Bracelet, some Pegasus Seeds and the Roc's Feather, you can reach a Zora explorer. He will ask you to tell a secret to King Zora in Labrynna. Switch back to Oracle of Ages, go to Zora Village, and talk to the King. He will give you a File:Zelda Oracles L-3 sword.png Sword upgrade and another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Seasons, go to Farore and tell her King Zora's secret: the sword will be upgraded in this game, too.
If Link owned a L-1 sword in one game, the secret upgrades it to L-2; a later upgrade in the same game will upgrade it to L-3. If Link owned a L-2 sword already (i.e. through the non-secret upgrade), the secret upgrades it to L-3.
Holodrum
[edit | edit source]With the Bright Sun retrieved, you'll be warped out as usual and receive another message from the Maku Tree. The Bright Sun has strengthened him, and he has seen that the powers of darkness still grow somehow.
He has also dreamt of the waterfall on the mountain north of Sunken City. The next esscence could be there, but what does the waterfall hide...?
Natzu (Summerland)
[edit | edit source]"Natzu" is Japanese for "Summer".
This area is different depending on which animal companion befriended Link.
Regardless of the animal companion, there are always three caves to be explored:
- a fairy fountain;
- the home of a Deku scrub (who refills Link's seed satchel);
- a cave with a 50 Rupees chest (it can be accessed only after Link retrieved the flippers in Sunken City).
Sunken City
[edit | edit source]Items that can be collected:
- Gale seeds
- Master's diplom and Zora flippers
- Gasha seed (treasure chest)
- trade Goron Vase (see below) for a fish
- trade mushroom (see below) for a wooden bird
First of all, Link can collect Gale seeds from the tree in this town, but only in summer.
Then, Link meets Dimitri, a friendly Dodongo who helps him reach the northern portion of the town (it's possible to have met Dimitri already in Spool Swamp). There, a master diver resides in a cave. He proposes Link a challenge. The hero must then move to the nearby cave, push the four eye statues close enough to each other, and slash them all at the same time with a charged spin attack: a passage will open and allow Link to reach the chest. Inside is the Master's diplom. Bring it to the master diver, and he'll reward Link with the Zora flippers and a secret: there's a diving hole that links Sunken City to Mt. Cucco. It's actually located near the house of the collector of vases.
Now you can freely explore the rest of Sunken City even without the help of Dimitri. Just east from the master diver's cave there's a flooded house and a Gasha soil. No need to plant any Gasha seed there: it's a spot that only produces rings from tiers 1 and 2. Another cave can be reached in summer only: it holds a Gasha seed.
In winter, Link can reach Syrup's shop. Nevertheless, the witch Syrup cannot make any potion until Link brings her a mushroom.
There's a second diving spot, just south of Syrup's shop (note that it cannot be accessed in winter). Inside, Link can get another Gasha seed, but then he has to exit in the Woods of Winter. Not too bad: he can use a Gale seed and get back to the Sunken City.
Moblin's Keep
[edit | edit source]- Linked game
- Tokay secret
(If you already cleared Oracle of Ages and linked to this game)
After you destroy the Moblin's Keep, visit the Great Moblin in Sunken City, then go back to the ruined keep. A friendly Moblin will ask you to tell a secret to a Tokay in Labrynna. Switch back to Oracle of Ages, go to Crescent Island, and talk to the orange Tokay in the museum. He will ask you to complete his mini-game, and if you succeed, he will give you a File:Zelda Oracles Bomb.png Bomb bag upgrade and another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Seasons, go to Farore and tell her the Tokay secret: the bomb bag will be upgraded in this game, too.
If Link could carry up to 10 bombs in one game, the secret upgrades it to 30; a later upgrade in the same game will allow to carry 50 bombs. If Link could carry 30 bombs already (i.e. through the non-secret upgrade), the secret upgrades it to 50.
Use the flippers to access the third cave in the north of the Natzu land and gain 50 Rupees. Then, use the flute and your animal friend to access the Great Moblin's Keep from the south-west.
If you defeat the Great Moblin, you can get a Piece of Heart from a chest in the ruined keep.
Mt. Cucco
[edit | edit source]The fastest way to get to Mount Cucco from Sunken City is the following: dive near the house of the vase collector, and swim through the passage.
If you switch the season to winter, you can access a fairy fountain. Two Deku Scrubs give hints about a key and a lock. Still, this is all that can be done for the moment.
Access Subrosia from a portal on Mt. Cucco.
Subrosian Treasure Grove
[edit | edit source]The Strange Brothers steal Link's feather, and he has to chase them through their treasure grove in order to get it back.
After Link got his feather back, you can explore Subrosia a bit more. In particular, walk back to the gate where Link came from and continue east. Jump over the lava, but instead of entering the tunnel to the temple, still continue east. Use the power bracelet, then combine the Roc's feather with a Pegasus seed, so you can jump over the large chasm. Continue south-east and visit the beach. Ask Rosa to follow you: she can open any locked door.
Now travel back north, past the market and to the northern part of the village. Go west, jump over the lava and continue south-west. Soon you'll reach the Subrosian Chef, who will trade the iron pot for a bowl of lava soup. Leave the chef and continue north. Rosa can open a locked door, and inside you can find a Gasha seed. Back to the chef's hut, continue north-west. In an open cave Link can get another Gasha seed.
Now you can go all the way back and enter the tunnel that leads to the Spring Tower. Rosa leaves Link in the underground passage.
Spring Tower
[edit | edit source]After Link got his feather back, he can access a cave near the Treasure Grove that leads to the Spring Tower.
In the tunnel there is one more Gasha seed.
Goron Mountain
[edit | edit source]- Linked game
- Elder Goron secret
(If you already cleared Oracle of Ages and linked to this game)
After you gave the Lava Soup to the Biggoron, go back in the Goron caves. On the top floor, a red Goron will ask you to tell a secret to his ancestor in Labrynna. Switch back to Oracle of Ages, travel back in time, go to Rolling Ridge, and find the Elder Goron at the shooting cart mini-game, in the East. He will ask you to complete the mini-game, and if you succeed, he will give you the File:Zelda Oracles Biggoron sword.png Biggoron Sword and another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Seasons, go to Farore and tell her the Elder Goron secret: Link will obtain the Biggoron Sword in this game, too.
The Goron Mountain is an optional area, but there are many useful items. Most important of all, one of the best Gasha spots is located at the base of the mountain.
Items that can be collected:
- Ring box upgrade
- trade Lava Soup for Goron Vase
- back in Sunken City, trade the Goron vase for a fish
- back in North Horon, trade the fish for a megaphone
Coming from Mt. Cucco on the east, you can see a cracked wall. Blast it open with a bomb, and follow a path through several caves and cliffs. Eventually, Link will reach a cave where a red Goron lives. The lonely creature can upgrade the Ring Box.
Continue east, and burn down three small trees. One of them conceals an old man who will gift 200 Rupees to Link.
Opposite to the old man is the entrance to the Goron caves. Go to the top and give the Subrosian lava soup to Biggoron: he will trade it for a Goron vase.
Now go to the base of the mountain. Two gasha spots can be found nearby: one is all the way to the east, but it only gives low-level rings, the other one is to the west, near a series of pits, and apparently is one of the best spots in the game. Chance that you may obtain the Green Ring or a Boomerang Ring L.2!
With the Goron vase, travel back to the sunken city. The vase collector in the north-west house will trade it for a fish. Now, backtrack to North Horon (maybe using a gale seed). Just east from Impa's hideout, an old man needs a fish to catch back his cat. As a reward, he gives the megaphone to Link.
Now you're ready to bring springtime on Mount Cucco.
Springtime on Mt. Cucco
[edit | edit source]Items that can be collected:
- Piece of Heart
- trade Megaphone for a mushroom
- Green joy ring and Subrosian ring
- Dragon key (actually on the east side of Goron Mountain)
From North Horon Link can use a gale seed and fly to Sunken City, then use the underwater shortcut to Mount Cucco. First of all, switch the season to spring.
Go east and help Moosh. Grab the flying chicken using the power bracelet, and fly to the upper platform. Go north, cross the cave and get some bananas from the palm on the mountaintop. On the way back down, enter a smaller cave, where Link can obtain a green joy ring.
Once Link brings the bananas to Moosh the bear, he joins the hero. Travel all the way west; when you get to Goron Mountain, turn north. Moosh can fly over the pitfalls, so that Link can reach the Dragon key.
Back to Mount Cucco, switch the season to spring again. On the west is a "spring flower" that can spit Link up to a higher ledge. Talon is sleeping in a cave: wake him up with the megaphone; when he leaves, Link can get a mushroom for the witch Syrup in Sunken City. Furthermore, a chest becomes now accessible; the subrosian ring is inside.
Go east until you get to a tree stump. Instead of changing the season, jump down one screen and collect a Heart Piece.
With a small tour, go back to the tree stump above and change the season to winter. West from the waterfall, the snow allows now to access a cave. On the upper exit, grab a flying rooster with the power bracelet and reach the keyhole. The Dragon key fits in and stops the waterfall.
Jump down, change the season to summer, and enter the dungeon.
DUNGEON: Dancing Dragon Dungeon
[edit | edit source]Dancing Dragon Dungeon is a mine shaft of doom in the shape of a dragon, as it can be seen from its map.
The next essence resides in here, and the only way to find it is to face the challenges this trouble-filled dragon holds.
Map
[edit | edit source]- From the entrance to the map
The first room, as are many others here, is flooded with water. There is a locked door to the right, so swim over to the left to enter the next room. Such room has a chest you can easily reach: simply pushing a block at the same height as the chest. You'll find 10 bombs. With those extra bombs, hop in the mine cart.
As you ride the mine cart, you'll pass a switch. Don't hit it until you round the curve. You'll switch the tracks, but still head north now. At the end of the track, go east to spot a cracked wall. Plant a bomb right by it and head into the uncovered room.
Here is a simple puzzle: activate all the switches at once. However, there are eight switches and nine pots to use. Two aren't needed, but to make things easy, follow this solution:
- First, break one pot from the middle of any one side.
- Break the pot in the center.
- Push the remaining seven pots on the seven buttons, then go stand on the last one. You'll earn a File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key as a reward.
Get back on the cart, but now hit the switch so that Link can go south and east. At the end of the track, push the eye statue on the button to open the door. In the next room, push three blocks so to open a passage downstairs.
Follow the narrow passages, and remember that the black-and-white whisps can be destroyed by the boomerang. Ignore the stairs down, for the moment, and go east. Open the chest and get the map.
Compass
[edit | edit source]- From the map to the compass
After getting the map, go down the stairs in the previous room. Navigate the passage and emerge in a dark room. You can use an ember seed to light the brazier and take look around. Then, use the Roc's feather and get to the chest, where a second File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key is waiting.
Now, the west "wing" (literally) of the dungeon has been fully explored. Take the keys and unlock the door in the first room.
Jump over the spiked floor and wipe away the wisps using the boomerang. Light a bomb to blast the cracked east wall. Defeat all enemies in the next room, then push the only block: a chest will appear. The compass is inside.
Sub-boss
[edit | edit source]- From the compass to the sub-boss room
After Link finds the compass, go back to the previous room and then north. Swim under the spiked logs. In the following room, remember that the shield can flip over the spiny turtles.
Ride the cart, and remember to hit the switch on the way. Ride it again, and explore the room to the west, the "eye of the dragon". Defeat all the enemies, and the third File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key will fall in the water. Dive underwater and grab it. Leave on the cart, and go east.
In the next room, unlock the block with the second key. Next, defeat all the shrouded Stalfos and a passageway will appear. The owl statue suggests to combine Pegasus seeds and Roc's feather to overcome the next obstacle.
Downstairs, after another cart ride, a Deku Scrub sells ember seeds, if you need any. It's actually a hint about the sub-boss. The chest holds a fourth File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key. Continue all the way south to the sub-boss room.
Agunima creates two images of himself, but only real one has a shadow. In order to see it, drop some ember seed in the braziers, then slash at the sorcerer with the shadow.
Slingshot
[edit | edit source]- From the sub-boss to the slingshot
After defeating Agunima, two doors open. Go to the east one first. An old man says to look for something in the eye of the dragon. It's a hint for a small key upstairs, in case you skipped it.
Now go south and ride another cart. At the end of the ride south-east you will need the aforementioned key to open a door. The Beamos is invincible, but you can jump over its beam.
Open the door and equip the Pegasus seeds: when you push the eye statue, and you have to, the floor will start crumbling. The chest at the end holds the slingshot.
Boss key
[edit | edit source]- From the slingshot to the boss key
Equip the slingshot and backtrack. The cart track is now a shooting gallery: select a seed (avoid the ember and scent ones) and shoot at the two faraway switches. Ride the cart again and go to the south-west exit. In the next room, combine again Pegasus seeds and Roc's feather, then use the last key to unlock the block.
In the next room, the boss key is concealed in one of the two smaller ponds. Dive underwater and get it, even without fighting the enemies.
Boss room
[edit | edit source]- From the boss key to the boss room
Check the map: there is still one chest. Backtrack to the sub-boss room, and continue north up to the next cart ride. Equip the slingshot and the ember seeds, then get on the cart. Light the three brazier while moving, and the chest will appear. Inside is the fifth and last File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.
Restock the ember seeds from the Deku Scrub: you'll need them against the dungeon boss. Now go all the way south.
In the southmost room, push a block south, so that the green blade trap cannot move. Then, shoot at the switch: now you can ride the last cart. In the next room, defeat the red wizzrobes to open the door. Use the fifth key and proceed downstairs.
The owl statue gives a hint about the boss: the weak spot is the eye. Shoot the braziers with ember seeds, and a bridge will appear. In the last room before the boss, a fast lift oves over a big chasm; better wait and defeat some bats before proceeding.
BOSS: Gohma
[edit | edit source]As most bosses in Oracle of Seasons, Gohma comes from The Legend of Zelda 1, too.
Equip the slingshot with either scent or ember seeds. Gohma is immune to sword attacks. Also, equip the Roc's feather to dodge its attacks.
Get to the southern wall, and wait for Gohma's attacks. When he lifts its claw, shoot a seed into its eye, then jump sideways to avoid its grip.
Eyeglass Lake and Unicorn's Cave
Before the next quest
[edit | edit source]Two important items were obtained in the previous chapter: the Zora flippers and the power of spring.
Using the flippers, Link can explore the river between North Horon and Holodrum Plains. Starting from the north, Link can find an islet with a L-3 Gasha spot, then a cave with a man waiting for five Essences (come back later). Continue swimming west, and explore a cave with a magic ring chest inside, then Link will reach Spool Swamp.
Using the power of Spring, Link can get a File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Heart Piece in the Spool Swamp.
Also, Link can progress along the trading sequence. Bring the mushroom found on the mountains to Syrup the Witch in Sunken City: she excanges it for a wooden bird. This item is needed by the clockmaker in Horon village, and he trades it for some lubrificating oil. Link can then bring the oil to the musician in the eastern suburbs and trade it for a phonograph. This is the second-to-last item in the trading sequence, that will be completed during the next chapter.
Holodrum
[edit | edit source]Eyeglass lake
[edit | edit source]This region is just east from Impa's hideout. The default season is winter, and during this season there is only one notable feature: a L-4 Gasha spot. Plant a seed there.
Nothing special happens during springtime. In summertime, instead, the lake waters dry up. In the east part, Link can lift one rock and reveal a cave that leads to a File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Heart Piece. In the north-west corner of the lake, instead, Link can blast a wall with a bomb and get 100 Rupees from inside. Now, switch to a different season to proceed.
The dungeon entrance is visible, but the path is blocked by stone mushrooms. Link needs the Power of Autumn to get through. It's time to visit Subrosia again: the gate is in the southmost portion of the lake.
Subrosian lava lake
[edit | edit source]From this gate, using various items, Link can go to the Tower of Autumn, just to find it blocked by big rocks. Some Subrosians there need a bomb flower to clear the passage. This item can only be found in the south.
The lava lake can be explored with just the help of the Roc's feather. In its most remote part, Link can pick up a heavy Bomb Flower, but only using the power bracelet.
Tower of Autumn
[edit | edit source]Linked game: Plen secret |
---|
Bring the bomb flower to the Subrosian outside the Autumn Tower, and they'll clear the passage for you. Get the power of Autumn, then head back to Holodrum.
Autumn on Eyeglass Lake
[edit | edit source]Back to Eyeglass Lake, switch the season to autumn.
Before entering the dungeon, head back to the entrance of the region. A chest on an islet can now be reached, because autumn filled all holes with leaves. Inside is a Gasha seed.
Now, you can enter the next dungeon.
Unicorn's Cave
[edit | edit source]Map
[edit | edit source]- From the entrance to the map
Enter the dungeon and go east. In the room with two carts, take the eastmost one. Hit the switch on the way and go north. Collect the first small key.
Go back, hit the switch again, then go east. Climb down the stairs. Use the Roc's feather only, no bombs yet. When you emerge, go east. Defeat all the enemies in the room and collect the map from the chest that appears.
From the map, you can see that the dungeon was shaped after its name: it looks like a unicorn's head. Notice the empty room corresponding to the eye: unlike other dungeons in the series, it's really empty, and there is no way to access it.
Magnet gloves
[edit | edit source]- From the map to the magnet gloves
After collecting the map, just go all the way west without using the stairs again. The first small key will be necessary to access the room where the magnet gloves are found.
Compass
[edit | edit source]- From the magnet gloves to the compass
Using the magnet gloves, pull the iron sphere on the button, so that the door may stay open. Walk back to the underground passage. Use the bombs to open a new way.
Link will emerge in a room in two parts, with an Armos statue on each side. Push the nearby statue south, east ad north, so that the other one will move simmetrically onto the button to open the door.
Link eventually gets to a room with another iron sphere. First of all, open the chest and earn 100 Rupees. Then, go north. The owl statue gives the solution for the puzzle in the next room; there, Link will collect the second small key. Now, go back south and move away the iron sphere.
Kill all the enemies, and a door to the west will open. Inside, you can skip most of the shifting walk using a Pegasus seed and the Roc's feather (or simply equip the Quicksand Ring, if you own it). The chest at the center holds the compass.
Sub-boss: Syger
[edit | edit source]- From the compass to the sub-boss
After Link leaves the compass room, continue all the way south. Stand of the differently coloured tile and use the magnet glove to cross the chasm. Follow the path and collect the third small key.
Link is now very close to the dungeon entrance. Unfortunately, he has to backtrack all the way to the underground passage, so to emerge near the first cart he used. Get back on the cart, then take the other one. Don't hit the switch, so to collect the fourth small key. On the way back, hit the switch, so that Link may continue to the north. In the dead-end room, defeat the Darknut, then push the block to the east: an iron sphere will appear. Leave it there for the time being.
Get back on the two carts, without hitting any switch. Then, use the magnet gloves to cross the chasm, then ride another cart and collect the fifth small key.
Backtrack just a little, use a key, and access the sub-boss room.
During this battle, equip the sword and the shield, so to get protected from Syger's attacks.
Big key
[edit | edit source]- From the sub-boss to the big key
The room north of Syger's has three exits. Link should start from the one without keylock. At the end of the path, all that Link has to do is to pull an iron sphere to the left as much as possible.
Back to the three-exit rooms, now it's the turn to the locked door (not the keyhole block). The Big Key is at the end of the path.
Boss door
[edit | edit source]- From the big key to the boss door
Back again to the three-exits room, use the last small key to unlock the block and follow the path to the boss door.
BOSS: Digdogger
[edit | edit source]Following the "remake theme", Digdogger is a boss from The Legend of Zelda 1.
Unlike the original, this version of Digdogger is immune to sound effects. Instead, Link has to use the magnet glove to pull a spiked ball against the monster. When it splits up, keep using the spike ironball to destroy the mini-Digdoggers before they reunite.
After defeating the boss, collect the new Heart Container and the fifth Essence of Nature.
Tarm Ruins and Ancient Ruins
Before the next quest
[edit | edit source]Using the new power of Autumn, Link can access two new small areas. First and foremost, a L-4 Gasha spot on Mount Cucco. Then, a cave in Horon North, holding a chest with a ring.
Furthermore, there's a cave holding a Gasha seed in the east suburbs. Link needs the new magnet gloves to reach it, as well as the power of spring and the power bracelet. Another cave requiring the same three items is in Winter Woods, just near the dungeon entrance; a magic ring can be found there.
During this chapter the trading sequence can be completed, therefore make sure you collected all the necessary items so far.
Tarm ruins
[edit | edit source]Subrosian market, forge and wilds
[edit | edit source]The only way to enter the Tarm ruins is to collect the four jewels.
If Link goes back to the Subrosian market, right now the owner sells a Member card. This card allows to access the secret backstore of the shop in Horon Village.
It's not time to go leave Subrosia yet! Many Subrosian are talking about special minerals that can be obtained at the forge. One such mineral, the blue ore can be found in the western Subrosian Wilds using the magnet glove. The red ore, instead, is quite near to the forge, and the magnet glove is required there, too. Bring the two different minerals to the forge, and they'll turn it into hard ore. Bring it to the Subrosian smith, and the master will use it to upgrade the shield.
The four jewels
[edit | edit source]Trave back to Horon Village, and enter the shop. Thanks to the membership card, the owner allows Link to go downstairs. There, he can buy a treasure map and a seed satchel upgrade.
Press select and check the map: the location of the four gems is now highlighted.
- Let's start from the closest gem: on the west coast. In order to reach the marked islet, Link should first light a brazier. Just put your feet in the water and use the slingshot. The islet features a rock in the shape of a question mark: it's the same shape of mystery seeds. Use one, defeat the monster, then collect the first jewel.
- Let's move on to the farthest jewel, on Mount Cucco. Change the season to springtime and get to the dungeon entrance. Once there, dive in the north-east corner of the water pond.
- The third jewel is on the opposide side of the river bordering the Holodrum Plains.
- Keep swimming west in the Holodrum river and reach Spool Swamp. Change the season to winter, then go to the south-east corner. Blast a wall with a bomb, and enter the cave.
Now that Link has collected all four jewels, he can return to the Tarm Ruins gate crossing the Spool Swamp.
Lower Tarm ruins
[edit | edit source]The default season is autumn. Put the for jewels in the four slots, and the gate will open.
Use the scepter to change the seasons accordingly:
- Summer: Climb the vines then descend them on the next screen. Push the armos statue sideways. Go back to the stump.
- Winter: Walk on the snow and reach the ladder. Push all the armos statues in the water.
- Autumn: Before continuing north, Link can pick up mushrooms in the east. A Deku Scrub in the cave gives the solution for the Lost Woods maze.
Lost woods
[edit | edit source]The Lost Woods are a distinct area within Tarm Ruins. A lone sapling is in the southeast corner: if Link burns it down using an ember seed, and if he completed the trading sequence, a Deku Scrub will tell a solution of the woods that allows to get the Noble sword L-2.
There is a tree stump in the center of the Lost Woods. Both solutions of the maze require the same sequence of seasons: winter, autumn, spring, summer. The directions are in the game: just talk to the two Deku Scrubs.
Upper Tarm ruins
[edit | edit source]The default season here is spring. There is a L-5 Gasha spot here.
- Autumn: get a Gasha seed by picking up the mushrooms and burning down the small tree near the gale seeds tree.
- Winter: the snowfield allows to reach the upper area; push an armos statue sideways, so that Link can come back up in springtime.
- Spring: use the "spring flower" to access the upper area, the cut down the stone flower and cross the bridge.
Link is now at the entrance of the 6th dungeon.
Ancient ruins
[edit | edit source]Map
[edit | edit source]- From the entrance to the map
In the second room there are two possible exits: to the east and to the north. Take the one to the north, the one to the east ultimate leads to a dead end. Follow the only possible path. Notice the coloured tiles under the locked door, as you pass by it. In another room you'll get a chest with a blue Rupee (5R). There is a secret passage in the room where a door closes behind Link: place a bomb at the middle of the southern wall.
After a five rooms loop, you're back to the rotatory room, but this time you can go west. There are two exit from this room: north or south. In the north room you can obtain a key by using together the magnet glove, the Roc's feather and the Pegasus seeds.
Now go to two rooms south, then back up, open the chest and get the dungeon map.
Compass
[edit | edit source]- From the map to the compass
The room next to the map chest (to the west) leads to another dead end (for the time being). Go back to the rotatory room, then go south. Use the small key to open the locked block. Then, use the magnet glove to position the iron sphere on the button, and keep your way back open.
Anyway, continue north and back to the rotatory. This time, you can go north. Use the magnet glove to move the iron sphere on the button, then climb up the new stairs.
Upstairs, use the Roc's feather to get past the various obstacles. In the next room, use the shield to defeat the Spike turtles. Open the chest and claim a key, then backtrack to the rotatory.
Another four-room loop, counterclockwise. After you defeat the Rope snakes, push the central block to open the door. Repeat the loop, and then the rotatory will send link to the east. You now have a key to open that locked door! Equip the Roc's feather and jump over the laser beam, while you make your way to the chest in the north-west corner. There, you'll find the compass.
Magic Boomerang
[edit | edit source]- From the compass to the Magic Boomerang
After you got the compass, get to the opposite (south-east) corner of the room. In the next one, defeat the Keese bats, then equip the Roc's feather (again) and the Pegasus seeds. Press the button, the run to the north-west before all the floor crumbles away.
Upstairs, use the bombs to open a visible passage in the south wall; the chest in the room contains some bombs.
Next comes a room with a chest and two exits. Defeat the Armos statues before opening the chest, or they will activate at the same time; the chest has just 5 Rupees. The south room is a "trap": defeat the easy enemies and backtrack. The west room has a chasm and two Spike turtles: equip the shield and the Roc's feather. Move the trampoline onto the violet tile and jump on it to get on the next floor.
Cross three rooms, then open the chest and claim the Magic Boomerang. it's also one of the few weapons that can defeat the Armos statues.
Boss key
[edit | edit source]- From the Magic Boomerang to the boss key
After you claimed the Magic Boomerang, backtrack. There is a shortcut (a hole surrounded by cristals), that leads back near the entrance.
Back on the ground floor, go west, pass by the chest where the map was, and continue west. In the next room (to the west), there's a chest with a red Rupee (10R). Use the Roc's feather to jump over the spikes. Press the button tile and open the door.
Use the magic boomerang to hit the blue sphere, so that a stairway will appear.
Upstairs, there are two exits from the room: the east path joins back the south one after two pointless rooms. Therefore, in the south room, use the magic boomerang on the blue sphere to open the door. Go south and jump down. Two rooms later, use the slingshot with ember seeds and light up all the braziers: a stairway will appear.
In order to get past the shrinking walls, use the Roc's feather together with a Pegasus seed. The Quicksand ring will be useful, too, if you have it. Past the rush, open the chest and claim the boss key.
Sub-boss: Vire
[edit | edit source]- From the boss key to the sub-boss
Go back to the room before the boss key: now that the walls are not moving, you can easily climb up the stairs.
In the room with a locked door, jump down the hole instead. Open the chest for a key, then use the trampoline to get back up.
Use the charged-up sword to attack, and the shield to parry the fireballs.
Boss door
[edit | edit source]- From the sub-boss to the boss door
After the sub-boss, use a Pegasus seed for the first room and the Roc's feather for the second. In the third one, press the right button for a stairway, the left one to fight some enemies.
Upstairs, use the magnet glove to defeat the Hardhat turtles and thus open the door. Then, turn all the moving blue spheres to red using any ranged item. In order to get to the top floor, push the trampoline against the south floor, then right and align it with the stairs.
Hit the blue sphere, go back down, push the trampline near the south-west, go up again. Push a block, and you can finally get to the boss.
BOSS: Manhandla
[edit | edit source]This is another boss from The Legend of Zelda, because Oracle of Seasons was originally meant to be a remake.
The Quicksand ring is very useful during this battle.
Use the magic boomerang to defeat each of the four heads, while the shield can protect you from the fireballs.
Then, use the boomerang again to open up the core, and finally slash it with the sword.
Graveyard and Explorer's Crypt
Before the next quest
[edit | edit source]This time, there is very little to do before the next quest. Visit Bipin and Blossom in Horon Village.
Also check the Gasha trees and collect the Gasha nuts, since now all the four high-level spots have been reached. Save before collecting the nuts, and reload if you're unsatisfied with the contents.
Holodrum and Subrosia
[edit | edit source]Subrosia graveyard
[edit | edit source]There is an underground room south from the fountain in Horon village. Using the Magic Boomerang, Link can hit the switch and access a gate to Subrosia. The gate links to the hideout of the Piratians, near the Subrosian graveyard. Actually, Link can also get there from the north and activate the switch in Horon village after coming from the Piratians hideout.
On the upper floor, a Piratian pushes the drawers in a specific order: 2 times the n.3 from left, 1 time the n.2, 2 times the n.1, 3 times the n.4.
The Piratian Captain charges Link to look for his bell. The first destination is the Subrosian graveyard, where a Piratian phantom directs Link to the Samasa desert.
East coast and Samasa desert
[edit | edit source]Back to Horon Village, go east and south along the beach. In order to open the desert gate, press the skulls in the same way the Piratian in Subrosia did with the drawers.
In order to find the missing half of the Piratian ship, go straight east from the desert entrance. The same phantom asks Link to find is skull, before he'll help finding the bell. Said skull is in the oasis in the northeast corner of the desert. Equip the power bracelet and pick it up. Then, go south and search the quicksands: when the skull starts making noise, get to the center of the quicksand. The bell is at the bottom.
It's not over yet: there's a chest in the southeast corner of the desert. In order to reach it, Link should get into the quicksand two screens to the west.
There's a shortcut to go back to the Piratian Captain. Enter the beached ship and push a box into a hole, so that Link can emerge from the other side, in the Subrosian cemetery.
Stll, the Captain is not satisfied, because the bell is all rusty. Link should now bring it to the Subrosian smith and have it polished. Once this is done, the Piratians' ship will leave Subrosia and sail in the sea of Holodrum...
West coast and graveyard
[edit | edit source]- Linked game
- Library secret
(If you already cleared Oracle of Ages and linked to this game)
After you restore the Piratians ship, visit the hut in the west coast near the tree stump. A ghost will ask you to tell a secret to a librarian in old Labrynna. Switch back to Oracle of Ages, go to the Library during Ambi's age, and talk to the librarian in the "black" room. If you manage to reach him, he will give you a File:Zelda Oracles L-1 Shield.png Shield upgrade and another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Seasons, go to Farore and tell her the Library secret: the shield will be upgraded in this game, too.
If Link owned a L-1 shield in one game, the secret upgrades it to L-2; another upgrade in the same game will raise it to L-3. If Link owned a L-2 shield already (i.e. through the non-secret upgrade), the secret upgrades it to L-3.
The Piratian ship lands on the west coast of Holodrum. A tree stup can be found north from the landing: switch the season to summertime in order to proceed. Just east from the ship bow, Link can find a chest with a magic ring.
In the westmost portion of the coast a vine sprung up in summer: Link can now access the graveyard and the dungeon within.
Explorer's Crypt
[edit | edit source]Compass
[edit | edit source]- From the entrance to the compass
In the first few rooms there are no forks. Use a mystery seed on the owl statue. In the second dark room, go quickly to the right, or Link will be sent back to the entrance. Defeat the Wizzrobes ghosts in the next room and claim a small key.
With the key, backtrack to the door in the second room. Defeat the Stalfos skeleton and the red Zols, then claim a magic ring from the chest.
Follow the upper path, and at the end of it shoot two ember seeds at the two braziers. A Poe ghost will attack you with a sword, but the dark rooms are no more! In the room that was previously getting dark there is a cracked wall: blast it with a bomb and claim the compass.
Map
[edit | edit source]- From the compass to the map
After getting the compass, go to the next room and go down the stairs. Ignore the Armos statues for the moment, and go straight to the west room. Press the button to create a trampoline, then use the latter to obtain another small key.
Back to the Armos room, one of them at random is a true statue: find it and push it on the button to keep the door open. Go two rooms south, where a trampoline is. The blocks on the two sides of the trampoline can be pushed: make an opening on each side so that you can push the trampoline to the west. In particular, move it three steps west and one north, then jump. The chest in the upper room holds the map.
Roc's cape
[edit | edit source]- From the map to the Roc's cape
After getting the map, backtrack one room to the north and take the stairs down. Use the magnet glove in the first room and a Pegasus seed in the second one. You'll end in a puzzle room. If the top-left is n.1 and the lower-right is n.4, press them in this order: 2-3-1-4. You'll receive a small key.
Go back upstairs to the trampoline room, where you can now unlock the door. Use a Pegasus seed to gain speed and the slingshot with ember seeds to light the four braziers. The second Poe ghost will appear and attack with flames. After you defeat her, the dark curse in the west room is broken, and you can proceed to the deeper floor.
Believe it or not, the heavy armor of the Darknut warriors can be pulled with the magnet glove: defeat them, and a bridge will appear. Cross it, activate the magnetic spinners, then combine the magnet glove, the roc's feather and a Pegasus seed to get to the two trampolines. Jump on the blue one first. Follow the path, that includes some hard jumps, until you get the Roc's cape.
Sub-boss: Poe Sisters
[edit | edit source]- From the Roc's cape to the sub-boss
After getting the Roc's cape, go all the way downstairs, where the flying tiles bridge is. You have to get familiar with the cape so to perform two double jump on the east side of the room. Using the magnet glove and the cape, you should get to a chest with another small key on the 1st basement floor.
You're back to the Armos room; go all the way south, then west, then downstairs. Use the key to unlock the block. Wait for the flying tiles to be finished before venturing across the room. Follow the path, defeat the Moldorms, then use a Pegasus seed together with the Roc's cape so to reach the button.
In the next room, Link will face the Poe Sisters. Equip the sword and the slingshot with the ember seeds. If the ghosts manage to turn off all the fires, Link will be sent back to the dungeon entrance.
Boss key
[edit | edit source]- From the sub-boss to the boss key
In the subsequent labyrinth of stairways, the chests holds just 1 Rupee. Use your memory and see which stairs connect to which so to get to the north-east exit from the room.
Once more, use the Roc's cape together with the magnet glove. Defeat the Stalfos skeletons and the Wizzrobe wizards so to get one more small key. After Link unlocks the door, use the Roc's cape with a Pegasus seed, so to press the buttons in the order that the sculptures hint at. Make the trampoline appear and go up.
The owl statue gives a hint so to solve the riddle right below it: only one globe should be blue. In the next room, you can get the boss key.
To the boss door
[edit | edit source]- From the boss key to the boss door
Backtrack to the labyrinth of staircases. The stairs that lead to the boss door are in the south-east corner.
BOSS: Gleeok
[edit | edit source]Gleeok was originally one boss from The Legend of Zelda 1, as Oracle of Seasons was originally planned to be its remake.
Slash at both heads. If you defeat one head only, it will detach, fly around and reattach to the body with full health. Link must defeat the second head while the first one is flying around.
When both heads have been defeated, Gleeok will transform into a skeletal dragon, and the Roc's cape will become necessary. Link has to jump when Gleeok does, or the quake caused by the boss will paralyze the hero and make him vulnerable.
Once Gleeok is defeated, collect the customary Heart and Essence.
Temple Remains and Sword & Shield Dungeon
Before the next quest
[edit | edit source]Now that Link owns the Roc's cape, he can get to the Heart Container in the graveyard. There is also a chest inside Goron mountain, holding a magic ring.
Furthermore, Link can now complete the Golden Monsters sub-quest and obtain a specific magic ring.
Hero's cave
[edit | edit source]- Linked game
- Hero's cave
(If you already cleared Oracle of Ages and linked to this game)
Let's start from the first magic gate after the Zora.
1. Notice the pink tile: push it south, before you light the brazier using the slingshot and an ember seed. A chest containing a key will then appear.
2. Push the blocks, so that you can push one into the hole. Jump over the last one using the Roc's cape, unlock the keyhole block with the key, then light the two braziers using the slingshot and an ember seed.
3. Defeat the enemies, then dive where the key fell.
4. Open your way using bombs. Light the braziers to obtain a Gasha seed.
Link can now get through another magic portal, to the fourth part of the dungeon.
1. Use the magnet glove and exit from the north-east passage.
2. Same as before; choose the southern path.
3. Use the shield to defeat the spiked turtles, then equip the boomerang and change all the bue globes to red.
4. Move the iron sphere with the magnet glove and get a Gasha seed. Equip the Roc's cape to reach the next magic gate.
The fifth part of the dungeon:
1. Start from the vertical row of three pots: destroy the top and bottom one, push the square blocks in the pit, then push the central pot on one of the four buttons. From the south passage, push three square blocks so that one pot can be pushed all the way to another button. Push the last two on the remaining buttons.
2. Press the buttons. Every time you do, four different enemies will appear. Defeat them all, and a key will appear.
3. Defeat the fire bats, then use the magic boomerang to hit the blue sphere.
4. Open the chests in the same order as the dungeons are scattered across Holodrum.
That was the last test. A new magic gate opens, and Link can claim an exclusive Magic Ring.
Holodrum and Subrosia
[edit | edit source]The Maku Tree cannot suggest where the last dungeon is, but there is only one unexplored area left in Holodrum.
Temple remains and Subrosian volcanoes (part 1)
[edit | edit source]Similar to the Tarm Ruins, here Link has to change season several times.
- The default season is winter.
- On the tree stump, change the season to autumn. Go all the way west and north.
- At the second tree stump, change the season back to winter. You can now reach the nearby Subrosian gate.
In Subrosia, enter the nearby cave. Throw a bomb in the lava pit, so that the Subrosian volcanoes will modify the structure of the temple remains in Holodrum.
Temple remains and Subrosian volcanoes (part 2)
[edit | edit source]Get back to the Temple remains. First of all, there is a breakable wall just north from the Subrosian gate. Inside, you can get the last Heart Piece.
Move back to the entrance, and change the season to summer. Explore the temple to the east. Eventually, you'll reach the very top, where a room hosts another Subrosian gate.
In Subrosia, follow the path to the north to the entrance of the dungeon.
Sword and Shield Dungeon
[edit | edit source]The snowshoe ring is very useful in this dungeon. It can only be obtained in a linked game.
Compass
[edit | edit source]- From the entrance to the compass
After the first room, turn east. Shoot the statue with the slingshot, and a small key will fall down.
Continue all the way north. destroy the red Zols and the Hardhat turtle to get a second key. Continue east until you see a keyhole block: unlock it and go down the stairs; instead, if you continue to the next room east, nothing can be done there right now.
After many rooms, you'll get to one with two exits: a stairway up and a locked door. Go upstairs, and you'll obtain the compass.
Map
[edit | edit source]- From the compass to the map
After you got the compass, go back downstairs and open the door. You are now in a rotator room. At first, it will direct Link to the north. Go back west at the fork(right now, the east path leads to dead ends only), and get in the rotator room again from the previous entrance. Now you can go south.
Use a mystery seed on the owl statue, and it will tell you how to activate the Armos statue that blocks the path. Climb the stairway, and collect the map.
Super slingshot
[edit | edit source]- From the map to the super slingshot
From the same place where Link found the map, use the magnet glove and move the iron sphere on the button. A new bridge will appear, although it's on the other side of the wall.
Go back downstairs, continue to the east room, the climb upstairs: Link is now in the room with the bidge. Anyway, first of all go west and claim the contents of a chest. You have to activate the Armos statues and push a block sideways to open it. Inside is the super slingshot. You saw already two spots where to use it in previous rooms.
Sub-boss: Frypolar
[edit | edit source]- From the super slingshot to the sub-boss
After getting the treasure, go back east, walk on the new bridge, and continue all the way back to the rotator room. This time, it will direct Link to the east. Open the chest and get a key.
Back to the rotator room, go north, then east; use the magnet glove and continue east. The owl statue gives a hint about the sub-boss. Anyway, first use the new slingshot on the three eye statues, so to make a stairway appear. In the room upstairs Link can collect another key.
Back downstairs, use a key and enter the sub-boss room, Frypolar. Equip the power bracelet and the super slingshot with mystery seeds (He can't be hit with the sword, so don't bother). Frypolar has two different forms:
- in ice form he creates ice blades; Link can throw a mystery seed on them, then pick them up with the power bracelet and throw the ice back at fire Frypolar. To attack in ice form, you need ember seeds.
- in fire form, he's vulnerable to his own modified ice blades.
Boss key
[edit | edit source]- From the sub-boss to the boss key
After Frypolar has been defeated, continue to the north. Use the super slingshot to light all the braziers, then go upstairs using the new stairs.
Link will end up in a puzzle room in the style of Kickle Cubicle. Push the southmost ice cube south, east and north. Leave it there. Push the eastmost ice cube south and east on a yellow tile. Push the last ice cube west, south, east, then north. Now all three ice cubes can be pushed on the yellow tiles: a stairway will appear.
Take the stairs down. Follow the path to the east and to the south. Use the magic boomerang to create a bridge. In the next room, defeat the Pols Voices using the strange flute. In the next room, Link can get the boss key. Defeat the Ball & Chain Warrior to open the door and leave.
Magic ring
[edit | edit source]- From the boss key to the magic ring
After Link gets the boss key, backtrack to the room of the three Moldorm worms. Press the button and create a bridge. Walk all the way back towards the entrance.
Just two rooms north from the entrance, you can see three eye statues. Get on the "balcony" to the east and shoot them with the new slingshot: a chest will appear. Then, use the Roc's cape to get around without leaving the room. Open the chest and collect a magic ring.
To the boss room
[edit | edit source]- From the magic ring to the boss room
Backtrack again to the room of the three Moldorms, take the stairs and continue to the room in Kickle Cubicle style. Now unlock the door and continue west.
Notice the cracked wall next to the owl statue. Blast it open, then memorize the path of the Armos ghost and repeat. If you succeed, a small key will appear.
Using the power bracelet, lift a magic ice, go to the southern room, and throw it in the red pit. Go downstairs, open the chest and claim a small key.
Back upstairs, pick another magic ice and ride the cart. Throw it in the hole, then go back. Take another magic ice, ride the cart, hit the switch, ride the cart again throw the ice in the third hole.
Now that most of the lava is cooled down, go downstairs and access a stairway up. Follow the path to a chest with a small key.
Back to the magic ice room. Go downstairs, then west (the chest contains just bombs), and upstairs again. Take the cart, go to the next room, then downstairs again. Go south-east and upstairs, back to the magic ice room. Pick a magic ice and ride the cart. At the end of the ride, go south and ride the other cart. Throw the magic ice in the fourth red pit.
At last, go downstairs by any stairs, then walk all the way north to the boss room.
BOSS: Medusa Head
[edit | edit source]Shoot it with Pegasus seeds, then hit it with the sword. The L-3 mirror shield protects from her attacks.
Onox's Castle
Northern Peak
[edit | edit source]After the Maku Tree gives Link the Maku seed, the hero can access the Northern Peak, that is just west from the Temple Remains.
Onox' castle
[edit | edit source]There are four exits from every room, but only one allows to proceed. Link has to defeat all enemies in the room and then take the north exit, or he'll be sent back to the entrance.
BOSS: Onox
[edit | edit source]- Phase 1: Onox in soly vulnerable to charged spin attacks.
- Phase 2: use the Rod of Seasons to temporarily knock Din's crystal away, then slash Onox as before.
- Phase 3: Onox turns into a dragon! Equip the Roc's cape; jump on the hands, then jump and slash at the gem on Onox's forehead.
Secrets to and from Labrynna
This page lists all events that happen in Holodrum after you defeat Onox.
That is, in a linked game if you played Oracle of Seasons first, then Oracle of Ages, there is still something to do in Oracle of Seasons.
Secret to Labrynna
[edit | edit source]After clearing Oracle of Seasons, you will be given the Secret to Labrynna. This is a password that can be used in Oracle of Ages when starting a new game. The new Oracle of Ages game is known as "linked game".
Link will start the game with an extra heart and his L-1 sword. Also, ten secrets will become available, and Link can thus obtain ten extra items. Furthermore, there will be a final chapter where Link has to fight the Twinrova witches and Ganon himself.
Ring secret
[edit | edit source]Whether you used the secret to Labrynna or not, you can also transfer all your collection of rings from one game to another. Talk to the Red Snake in Vasu's jewelry, and he'll give you a password to be told to the Red Snake in any other Oracle of Ages or Oracle of Seasons game, whether linked or not.
Since some rings are only available in a linked game, this is the only way to get a full collection of rings.
Ten secrets between Labrynna and Holodrum
[edit | edit source]All the secrets in this section are available only if you first cleared Oracle of Seasons and then continued the game in Oracle of Ages.
In a continued/linked game of Oracle of Ages, ten extra characters will appear and tell a secret password for a character in Oracle of Seasons. The latter characters will reply with an upgrade and a second password. Tell the password to Farore, oracle of secrets, and the upgrage will be available in Oracle of Ages, too.
Two characters give a Magic Ring instead of an upgrade: this can be transferred using a ring secret (see#Ring secret, above) instead of talking to Farore.

Gasha Seeds
In-game hints
[edit | edit source]File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Bipin.png "I am Bipin, the expert arborist! I know plenty about trees. Now let me tell you something!"
- "My experience holds that planting Gasha seeds in strange spots produces more rare and unusual results!"
- "Finding new places to plant Gasha seeds and finding secret stairways seems to be good for Gasha nuts."
- "A traveler once told me the time it takes for a planted Gasha seed to mature into a tree is related to how many monster you slay. Could this be true?"
- "The contents of a Gasha nut depend on where the seed was planted. If you find a good spot, tell me!"
- "Inside a Gasha nut? More than anything, you find magic rings, but sometimes you find Rupees or hearts."
- "I have heard that a nut's contents depend on the actions of the planter. The more he travels and the more beasts he slays, the better his nut will do!"
- "And helping those in need is good for Gasha nuts."
Gasha mechanics
[edit | edit source]There are 16 soft soil locations and more than 32 Gasha seeds in the game. 28 different magic rings can be found inside Gasha nuts (or from Maple); in particular, 16 rings can only be obtained from Gasha nuts (or from Maple).
Plant a Gasha Seed every time you find a soft soil patch. Come back to the grown Gasha tree after you cleared three/four dungeons. Get the Gasha Nut, and plant a new Gasha Seed straight away (because a Gasha tree withers as soon as its nut is taken).
Notable rings:
- The Discovery Ring helps finding soft soil (found in chapter 1 dungeon, Gnarled Root Dungeon);
- The Gasha Ring helps getting better rings (randomly obtained from Gasha nuts, Maple, or Blue Snake).
Locations of Gasha seeds and soft soil patches
[edit | edit source]In the following table, locations where Gasha Seeds can be purchased repeatedly are highlighted in green. The Rarity column specifies the rarity of rings that can be obtained from each soft soil patch, with 1 being common and 5 being rare.
Ignore the Gasha spots up to rarity tier 3: all the rings they produce can be obtained from many other sources. Instead, the Gasha spots at level 4 and 5 can also produce a single File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Heart Piece.

Golden Monsters
The Golden Sage
[edit | edit source]- Location: North Horon
- Season: summer (chapter 3)
It is said that a mysterious gold-cloaked sage resides somewhere in Holodrum, and has made the monsters appear. He eagerly awaits a person worthy of his treasure, and knows when each of his monsters have been slain. If you feel up to his challenge, then it's time to hunt the Golden Beasts!
Just north of Horon village, go to the nearby tree stump and change the season to summer. Then go all the way west to the island where the first dungeon was. Go south (instead of going in the dungeon) and enter the small cave: the Golden Sage will give you the quest!
Golden Octorok
[edit | edit source]- Location: Spool Swamp (chapter 3)
- Season: summer
Enter the far southwestern corner of Spool Swamp to find the first Golden Beast, the Golden Octorok, an Octorok that shoots chunks of pure gold. This one will be rather tricky to defeat, because you can't knock it down a hole. Instead, you must tackle it the hard way with your sword.
Golden Moblin
[edit | edit source]- Location: South of Sunken City
- Season: autumn (chapter 5)
Use the Gale Seeds and head to Sunken City and head south back over to the entrance of Snakes Remains and change the season to autumn (if you don't have the flippers, you must enter Snakes Remains to make it autumn). You'll find a Moblin has appeared, except he's gold! He is one of the four Golden Beasts.
It will take a lot of sword strikes to defeat him. When you do, he will disappear for good. Now, for the next one!
Golden Lynel
[edit | edit source]- Location: Tarm Ruins (chapter 6)
- Season: winter
Can be found in Tarm Ruins during Winter. As with the previous ones, using the boomerang will make this a relatively easy battle.
Golden Darknut
[edit | edit source]- Location: Western Coast (chapter 7)
- Season: spring
This monster can be found east of the Heroes Cave. You must have the pirate ship "parked" in between the two bridge parts to be able to get to the stump.
After you've killed all four of the Golden Beasts, head back to #The Golden Sage to collect your reward, the Red Ring, a ring that doubles sword damage without decreasing Link's defense.

File:LOZ Oos Arm Mimic.png | Arm-mimic | 3 | Contact: File:LOZ Oos Heart.gif | Medium | Arm Mimics are not very common. They are scarce due to the fact that they can be very annoying to encounter. They mirror your every move. If you move up, they move down, if you move left they move right, and vice-versa. So, move up to them slowly and slash until they are destroyed. | |

They can be very threatening due to their speed and damage rate. The easiest thing to do is to slash away when they come by you. | |

Slow | As their name implies, these enemies have ball and chains that they use to hurt you. Just avoid them in larger areas. Whenever one of these guys hurls his ball at you, dodge it and slash him with your sword. DO NOT attempt to slash them multiple times, you'd get hurt many times doing this. You have to be patient when fighting these enemies. | |

Slow | This green little blob will actually not do anything to hurt you unless you swing your sword or run straight into it. It's best to just ignore Buzz Blobs, unless you'd like to turn them into a Cukeman with a Mystery Seed. | |

File:LOZ Oos Business Scrub.png | Business Scrub | 2 | Stone shot: File:LOZ Oos Heart Half.gif | Immobile | These are fairly similar to the Business Scrubs in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, but of course not in 3D. Bosses
Here is a list of all the bosses that you'll face as you travel into the dungeons. Their weaknesses are listed as well.
Aquamentus
Location: | Gnarled Root Dungeon |
Guards: | Fertile Soil |
Description: | A fierce, fire-spitting dragon that spears foes with its horn. |
Battle Difficulty: | 1/10 |
Aquamentus is the first and easiest boss to defeat in the game. He has only two attacks: spitting out three fireballs and trying to ram you with his horn. His fireballs can easily be dodged, and his ram attack can be avoided by running.
Aquamentus's horn is highly vulnerable. Slash away at it, and the dragon will fall in defeat.
Dodongo
Location: | Snake's Remains |
Guards: | Gift of Time |
Description: | An armored lizard with a boiling temper and brutal strength to match. |
Battle Difficulty: | 2/10 |
Dodongo is armored with skin impervious to weapons, so he can't be harmed by a sword. He will attempt to spit a large fireball at you, or charge after you when you get close. You can easily run away from both attacks, but Dodongo is vulnerable when he opens his mouth. Toss a bomb inside his mouth, and while the beast has a little indigestion, use the Power Bracelet to pick him up, and toss him onto the pit of spikes in the middle of the room.
Follow that strategy, and Dodongo will be defeated.
Mothula
Location: | Poison Moth's Lair |
Guards: | Bright Sun |
Description: | A poison-fanged moth that divebombs its prey with flaming breath and agile swoops. |
Battle Difficulty: | 5/10 |
Mothula is a rather tricky boss, because it is much more difficult to defeat than the bosses before it. Mothula circles around the room, shooting fireballs at you as it flies. It may also spawn Baby Mothula to protect itself. They can be destroyed quickly. After a while, Mothula will get tired and settle on one of the two platforms in the middle of the room, vulnerable to attack. If Mothula flashes red, it will spawn four spinning fireballs around itself, and several Baby Mothula if it flashes blue. Use Roc's Feather to jump across the two platforms and dodge Mothula's attacks. If you falls through the gap in the floor, Mothula will fully recover his energy and the battle will restart.
Gohma
Location: | Dancing Dragon Dungeon |
Guards: | Soothing Rain |
Description: | A devious spider with a vicious appetite, pincing claws, and hungry offspring. |
Battle Difficulty: | 4.5/10 |
Gohma is a large spider that has a huge pincer claw and an appetite for heroes in green. She will attack with her claw, and attempt to grab you and smash you into the floor. Her claw can be severed with multiple sword strikes, leaving her eye exposed. Then, she will spawn Gohma Larva, her babies, to attack you. They can be defeated with one sword strike. As she releases her larva, Gohma will open and close her eye periodically. When her eye is open, use the Slingshot and fire Scent Seeds into it.
After she gets hit enough times, Gohma and her babies will surrender.
Digdogger
Location: | Unicorn's Cave |
Guards: | Nurturing Warmth |
Description: | An armored, leaping monster with a steel sheel impossible to crack with a sword. |
Battle Difficulty: | 6/10 |
Digdogger is completely impervious to every weapon you have, and he is very evasive. He will jump around, and give you a wallop each time he lands on you. However, there is a large spiked ball in the room, which you can pull down and move with the Magnetic Gloves. Use the gloves to knock the ball into Digdogger, and he'll sustain damage.
After enough hits, Digdogger will separate into several Mini-Doggers. Defeat them all with the spiked ball before they can recombine to win the battle.
Manhandla
Location: | Ancient Ruins |
Guards: | Blowing Wind |
Description: | A carnivorous plant with four sharp-toothed, fire-spiting flowers. |
Battle Difficulty: | 6.5/10 |
Manhandala is a tricky boss, because of both its movement and the shifting floor. Its flowers will shoot out fireballs whenever they open their mouths, aiming at you. Try to get on solid ground, and fire your Magical Boomerang at the flowers when they open their mouths to damage and destroy them. As each flower is destroyed, Manhandla will get progressively faster, making it harder to land a hit.
When Manhandla has lost all its flowers, it will start skittering around the room in a figure-eight pattern. Try to hit it with the Magical Boomerang and stun it, then land several more hits at once with it, and Mandhandla's core will be revealed. Slash it, and the plant will shrivel up for good.
Gleeok
Location: | Explorer's Crypt |
Guards: | Seed of Life |
Description: | An ancient, two-headed dragon that was revived with dark magic. |
Battle Difficulty: | 7.5/10 |
Gleeok proves to be one of the hardest bosses in the game. He has three fireball-based attacks:
- 1: Sprays many fireballs at you
- 2: Shoots a fireball that separates into six smaller ones
- 3: Creates a fireball ring around you
Make sure to avoid the spikes in the room while you fight Gleeok. Use the Roc's Cape to jump over Gleeok's numerous fireballs, and attack each of the dragon's heads. After one is severed, hurry and attack the other, because the severed head will fly around the room, attacking you.
When both heads are severed, the dragon will die, but the dark magic it embodies will animate its skeleton. The skeleton will stomp the ground, stunning you if you're not using the Roc's Cape, and then charge at you. Attack it with your sword, and you'll soon turn Gleeok to dust.
Medusa Head
Location: | Sword and Shield Maze |
Guards: | Changing Seasons |
Description: | An evil, mythical creature with a gaze that turns all to stone. |
Battle Difficulty: | 8/10 |
Medusa Head is a very formidable boss, because it has several powerful attacks. It shoots out red fireballs at you, fires lasers out of its eyes, and turns you to stone with its spinning blue fireballs. Try to attack it with your sword before it dissapears. If you get turned to stone, you'll be frozen for a few seconds.
If you can dodge Medusa Head's merciless attacks, you'll defeat the snake-haired savage once and for all.
General Onox
Location: | Onox's Castle |
Guards: | Din |
Description: | An extremely powerful master of darkness and destruction. He can turn peace to ruins with a mere thought. |
Battle Difficulty: | 6.5/10 |
Onox is the final boss in the game, and is invulnerable to regular sword strikes. He will spin his mace around, trying to land a hit. Have Roc's Cape ready and dodge his attacks. Onox can cause rocks to fall from the ceiling, and summon hordes of tornadoes to blow you away. The only way to defeat him is with several spin attacks to his body.
After he takes enough damage, Onox will summon Din as a shield. Din will hover around Onox, and you must use the Rod of Seasons to knock her away, or you'll will be electrocuted when you attack Onox. Din will always drift back to Onox after a while, so hurry and clobber the general before he can make use of her again. However, the battle isn't over yet...
Dark Dragon
Location: | Onox's Castle |
Guards: | Din |
Description: | The true form of General Onox. He desires to make Holodrum into a chaotic wasteland. |
Battle Difficulty: | 9/10 |
Onox will assume his true form, Dark Dragon, after taking a pounding. In this state, his is capable of shooting huge fireballs that must be jumped over with the Roc's Cape, and shooting dark balls of energy in all directions. He'll also try to swipe and crush you with his claws.
The only way to defeat Dark Dragon is to wait for his crush attack and dodge it, then hop on his claw with the Roc's Cape, and then charge up a spin attack. After that, jump over and slash the crystal on his chest. Do this enough times, and you'll slay the evil dragon.
If you are playing a Linked Game, then the adventure continues to these bosses.
Kotake and Koume
Location: | Room of Rites |
Guards: | Zelda |
Description: | Evil twin witches who have both gained much experience and power over time. |
Battle Difficulty: | 5.5/10 |
Kotake and Koume are not difficult to beat. Head for a corner in the room, and wait for the sisters to fly by and attack. Kotake shoots ice attacks, while Koume shoots fire attacks. You can deflect either with your sword. If the attack hits the same witch who cast it, they'll be unaffected. However, if you deflect a fire attack at Kotake or ice attack at Koume and it hits, they'll take damage.
After enough hits, Kotake and Koume will combine into their super form, Twinrova.
Twinrova
Location: | Room of Rites |
Guards: | Zelda |
Description: | The augmented form of Kotake and Koume. Twinrova is capable of ultimate spells, sorcery, and chaos. |
Battle Difficulty: | 8.5/10 |
Twinrova is much harder to beat than Kotake and Koume. She will alter the battlefield from fire to ice as she demonstrates her powers.
On the fire battlefield, Twinrova will unleash swarms of Fire Keese and shoot fireballs at you. Watch out for the lava as well.
On the ice battlefield, Twinrova will send spiked balls of ice of at you. If you don't have the Snowshoe Ring equipped, be careful on the ice.
Twinrova is vulnerable to Scent Seed attacks in fire form and Ember Seed attacks in ice form from the Hyper Slingshot and spin attacks from your sword. When Twinrova is on the verge of defeat, she will face you and fire off both fire and ice attacks at once. Be very careful at that point.
When you strike her down enough, she will sacrifice herself and revive your ultimate foe...
Ganon
Location: | Room of Rites |
Guards: | Zelda |
Description: | The ultimate King of Evil. Ganon holds the Triforce of Power, making him an epitome of ultimate and unlimited strength. |
Battle Difficulty: | 10/10 |
Ganon is by far, the toughest and true final boss of the game. Make sure you have Roc's Cape and your sword equipped. Ganon will frequently warp around the room, unleashing a melee of attacks:
- When he tries to strike you with his spear, jump to dodge his slashes.
- When he shoots off 1 energy ball, or 3 energy balls at once, you can also dodge them by jumping.
- When he fires a 4-way attack, watch out! Each ball will split into 3 smaller ones! Jump over these as well.
- When starts charging up energy, he will try to stun you with a jump attack.
Jump right before he lands it, and dodge the huge energy ball he fires.
- When Ganon is near defeat, he will change the room, and your controls will be reversed. Be VERY careful to avoid confusion.
The only way to defeat Ganon is to charge up a spin attack and strike Ganon before he warps. You must avoid his attacks to deliver effective hits. Only the Master Sword can harm Ganon without using spin attacks.
After many hits, Ganon will be defeated once more, you'll truly finish the game, learn the Hero's Secret, earn the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 55.png Victory Ring, and see the final ending.
