Vesper adest, iuvenes, consurgite: Vesper Olympo The evening Star is rising, get up young men! The evening Star
exspectata diu vix tandem lumina tollit. long time awaited is just now setting on light on the Olympus.
surgere iam tempus, iam pinguis linquere mensas, It's now time to stand up, to leave the fat tables
iam veniet virgo, iam dicetur hymenaeus. soon the virgin will arrive, soon the wedding hymn will be sung
Hymen o Hymenaee, Hymen ades o Hymenaee! Hymenaeus Hymen, come! O Hymen Hymenaeus!
cernitis, innuptae, iuvenes? consurgite contra; Do you the young men, virgins? Get up opposite of them
nimirum Oetaeos ostendit Noctifer ignes. Without a doubt Oeataeus showed the lights.
sic certest; viden ut perniciter exsiluere?
non temere exsiluere, canent quod vincere par est.
Hymen o Hymenaee, Hymen ades o Hymenaee! Hymenaeus Hymen, come! O Hymen Hymenaeus!
Aspicite innupte secum ut meditata requirunt:
Non facilis nobis equales palma parata est:
Non frustra meditantur: habent memorabile quod sit:
