Neptune

[edit | edit source]

Neptune, the last planet on our journey, radiates twice as much energy than what it receives from the Sun. The planet of Neptune has its own great dark spot about half the size of the great red spot. Neptune does have its own set of rings but they appear incomplete. However it’s just that some parts of the rings are brighter than others. Like the rings of Jupiter and Uranus, Neptune’s rings are not easily visible from Earth.

Neptune’s physical makeup is similar to Uranus. Neptune consists of various ices and rock but is less uniform in composition. It most likely has a small core. The winds on the planet are confined bands of latitude. They are the fastest winds in the solar system. The magnetic field of Neptune is similar to Uranus’ in that it is oddly orientated. Neptune has 13 known moons but the main one is Triton.
