Topfield 5800/Troubleshooting/Front Display

Sometimes the connection to the Front Display can be lost and this usually shows itself by the "Four Flashing Dots of Doom" when turning the Toppy off, or by the Front Display continuing to show the time (e.g. "08:34") instead of the channel number (e.g. "P001") when turned on. The Toppy will also not wake itself from standby to do recordings when it is in this state.

This can be remedied by turning the Toppy off at the mains for about 20 seconds, so that all power to the Front Display is lost and it will be reset.
