Introduction

Back to Main Page

This collaborative Wikibooks project intends to focus on the important trends and innovations, which K-12 educational technology leaders should recognize. This subpage collects trends and issues that K-12 educational technology leaders, teachers, or students think important in education and are interested in knowing more. Professors, instructors, and their classes will be invited to develop open content around these topics.

Here is a sample content page created in a graduate class in Fall 2012. As you see on the sample content page, the topics include e-Portfolio, Flipped Classrooms, Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD), Adaptive learning, Free Agent Learners, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), Mobile Learning: The use of tablets, One-to-one initiatives, & E-textbooks, and Natural User Interfaces or Gesture based technology. The structure of the wikibook may change and evolve but the goal is to have the content created for each topic under these six areas: Description of the trend, rationale, implementation, issues, related research, and recommended resources.

We welcome your involvement and submission of topics here! You do not have to log in to edit this page. Simply click on the "Edit" tab on this page to add topics in the table below. You may also create a Wikibooks account if you don't have one so you can start adding your trends and issues topics below by identifying your Wikibooks contributions in this project's editing history. As contributors to this project, you will experience and understand the power and the real meaning of creating open content and educational resources. Thanks in advance for your contribution!
